[Patch]: Drive/Partition and extensible filesystem support for syslinux
Here is the patch for making syslinux enable opening partitions with fat filesystems (well, the architecture is in place to make it open other filesystems too). Usage is like this: #include <syslinux/io.h> #include <syslinux/partitions.h> #include <fs/fat/libfat.h> syslinux_devdesc dfd; struct libfat_filesystem* fs; diskinfo disk_info; char mbr[512]; static part_entry

Read disk not working in 3.35+
Hey, Looks like read disk function which was launched in 3.35 isnt working. Did anyone test this on any hardware? I'm using it thru the com32 interface to read contents of the active partition of a USB boot key (syslinux). I did a sample test like: void scanAndPrint() { com32sys_t regs_in; char *sectorBuf = __com32.cs_bounce; int i; memset(sectorBuf, 0x0, 512); // XXX MARK 1

[PATCH] Add filesystem UUID to SYSAPPEND for FAT
Filesystem UUID shows the partition we boot kernel from. The kernel parameter has format like FSUUID=DA1A-0B2E. The SYSAPPEND bit is 0x40000. Now the FAT only supports FSUUID. The patch is based on 67aaaeeb228. Signed-off-by: Serj Kalichev <serj.kalichev at gmail.com> --- com32/include/syslinux/sysappend.h | 1 + core/fs/btrfs/btrfs.c | 3 ++- core/fs/ext2/ext2.c

[PATCH 2/2] com32/disk: Improve flow at disk_write_sectors and disk_read_sectors.
This patch will improve the flow at disk_write_sectors and disk_read_sectors significantly, but it *will* introduce bugs if either of the above functions gets called before disk_get_params. --- com32/include/syslinux/disk.h | 21 +++++ com32/lib/syslinux/disk.c | 170 +++++++++++++++++++++-------------------- 2 files changed, 108 insertions(+), 83 deletions(-) diff --git

[PATCH 2/2 v2] com32/disk: Improve flow at disk_write_sectors and disk_read_sectors.
This patch will improve the flow at disk_write_sectors and disk_read_sectors. It does that by creating a table of values respective to the operation. Besides, read and write operations are pretty similar to each other, so I redesigned the routines to avoid duplication. [PATCH 1/6] chain/partiter: fix and improve gpt handling in buggy cases
Previous version had some issues in case of error situations, among those: - backup gpt header was not read if reading of primary failed - alternating nature of lba_cur and lba_alt was ignored This patch fixes this and extends the gpt handling. The current behavior is: - try primary header; if unreadable or checksum fails (or sanity checks fail unless relax flag is set) - try secondary header

lsof builds but doesn't run under 4-STABLE
Hi, I noticed this today. If I build lsof on my 4-STABLE box, then it doesn't run: boojum# lsof lsof: PID 0, no file * space If I build the lsof binary under 4.8-STABLE, then it runs fine under 4.8-STABLE and 4-STABLE. Upon investigation it appears that the variable fd in the file dproc.c is being used uninitialized in gather_proc_info(). The problem seems to be related to some changes to

Adding a "boot from local hard disk" option to syslinux menu, booted from USB
Hi all, I use XP on my laptop PC, with 30 GB HD (single partition), and a 3.5" hard drive (not a stick), accessed through a USB encasing, partitioned as five logical drives. I have successfully set up syslinux to boot several Ubuntu versions from the primary USB hard drive partition, and no problems there. The problem is, I would like to have an entry in the menu, like "Boot from
