PXE-Kernel crashes with "RAMDISK: incomplete write ..." after modifiying initrd.img
Hi, to install current PC models (with new Intel NICs) via Kickstart/PXE, I wanted to add the newest e1000e-Treiber to initrd.img. With this modified image, the Kickstart kernel crashes with the following error messages: [...] md: Autodetecting RAID arrays. md: autorun ... md: ... autorun DONE. RAMDISK: Compressed image found at block 0 RAMDISK: incomplete write (20480 != 32768) 6062080

menu.c32 recycling?
Hi, I am trying to use menu.c32 with RHEL 4.2. Everything seems to work fine until menu.c32 loads. Just half a second before the menu draws I see a set of error messages like so: Unknown keyword in config file. Unknown keyword in config file. Missing parameter in config file. Problem with menu.c32]
I'm trying to use menu.c32 to boot different kickstart files. The problem I have is regardless of what menu item I select, it always uses the client.cfg (default entry) even if I select one of the others. I have removed the DEFAULT from that entry and it still always uses the ckient.cfg kickstart file Any ideas. Thanks, Mike Jarka default menu.c32 prompt 0 timeout 300 MENU TITLE PXE Boot

PXE boot problem
I'm attempting to do a PXE boot and at the point where it tries to load the kernel the process hangs. My default config file looks like this: default linux label linux kernel vmlinuz append initrd=initrd.img ramdisk_size=10000 ks=nfs:172.16.0.1:/kickstart/ks/cfg Does this look like a problem with the kernel or with the append line? Thanks; Dennis

isolinux failing on serial console
Hi, I have a problem with isolinux failing to boot a kernel whenever I navigate and trigger the menu via serial console. My test machine is a DL585 G2, with iLO2. Navigating and booting the kernels off of the video console works 100% of the time. With the serial connection however, I _sometimes_ get a "menu.c32: not a COM32R image" error. Sometime it works fine. I suspect the serial

colon in syslinux.cfg leads to "Unknown keyword"
hi, sorry for bothering the list but since I didn't find anything in the documentation or archives I would be grateful for your help. For a customized USB installer (based on redhat anaconda) I wanted to pass an kernel parameter which contains a colon. This leads twice to the error message "Unknown keyword in syslinux.cfg." Quoting the append string using ' or "

Kickstart problem.
I am trying to use kickstart for automated builds from a DVD. Some of the machines have DVD's drives and some have CDRom drives only. With the CDRom only machines I would like to plug in an external DVD drive via USB and use this to kickstart. The DVD only machines work correctly with a isolinux.cfg as label test kernel vmlinuz append initrd=initrd.img ramdisk_size=8192

problems with isolinux over serial console
Hi, I'm missing something in my isolinux.cfg configuration but I'm not quite sure what it is. menu.c32 displays properly over video console, but on the serial connection, the first letter of the labels are duplicated, and the margin is pushed off towards the right: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/59666947/isolinux.jpg my config is: --- cut --- 1. serial 0 115200 2. console 0 3. 4.

CentOS 5.1 install via PXE Failure
Hi All, This has to be something simple....but it's really busting my chops. We have a PXE boot server that is used for initial installation of a number of operating systems and it works well. However the CentOS 5.1 x86_64 install is seriously broken. We've made the PXE boot images available from "centos/5/os/x86_64/images/pxeboot/" in the tftp boot etc. We've rsynced

Problems with x86_64 kickstart
I have successfully set up a very nice kickstart install with the i386 version of CentOS 4.3 and it works great. I am using a custom kickstart script and the kernel and initrd from disc1/images. But when I try to duplicate this for a 64 bit setup (changing paths in my tftp server, ks.cfg, etc to point to the 64 bit stuff) it successfully tftp's everything just as it should (tethereal

pxelinux - how to direct client to find source files for pxe loading
I've got a Fedora 13 box that I am using as a pxe server to pxe load client machines. Using dhcp, tftp, and http I have been able to succesfully pxe load clients. However I am now trying to serve up multiple images via a menu, and not having any luck in configuring my pxelinux.cfg/default file to direct clients to the appropriate source repositories. I do have the pxelinux.cfg/default file
