Hi, I'm facing some problems with pxelinux. I have ingetrated it into WDS server. I want to use Network boot all way possible. I want to add Hiren boot disk and NT password editor tools. Is this possible? Currently my network boot includes WDS, Linux install, Win98 Startup disk and ghost 11.5 wPS-DOS. My conf file as follows(*) Also in hyperv virtual machines(x64) pxelinux.com displays

PXELINUX and WDS (The Proper WAY)
After about 15 hours, a packet sniffer and a ton of google searching later, I have a solution to getting WDS (Windows Deployment Services) to work with PXELINUX Google didn't turn up anything of use directly, everything that was referenced appeared to be related to starting pxelinux from either WDS or RIS. That just won't do, since they often can give hiccups and lockups when

pxelinux -> pxeboot load?
Hi all, I've searched the depths of the resources on the internet; however I'm having trouble deploying a pxeboot solution via pxelinux. So far what I have successfully implemented in my infrastructure is a successful pxeboot setup for FreeBSD ( without the use of pxelinux ). I'd ultimately like to have a solution that will allow me to choose a network install of various Unix-like

Chainloading pxe boot loaders and dhcp root-path option
Is there anyway to set dynamically set dhcp options when chain loading another pxe boot loader? I'm setting up a pxelinux network install server and one operating system I want to support is freebsd. Freebsd has its own pxe loader called pxeboot that you can use. You just have to boot it from tftp and set the root-path dhcp option (option 17) to the location of your nfs server with the

mboot.c32 loses connection when loading the Kernel
Hi, I'm hope I'm right here. I'm trying to boot a XEN 3.2.1 via PXEBoot using the following config: LABEL xen_3.2_amd64 kernel mboot.c32 append images/debian/xen_3.2/amd64/xen-3.2-1-amd64.gz \ --- images/debian/xen_3.2/amd64/vmlinuz-2.6.26-bpo.1-xen-amd64 rw root=/dev/nfs nfsroot=172.16.0.1:/var/lib/tftpboot/clientroot panic=0 \ ---

pxelinux problem
Hi. I'm hoping that someone on this list can help me with my problem. I've been looking on my own for a question for the past few hours at least, so hopefully this isn't just a FAQ. Anyhow, my problem is simple (to describe). The NIC's boot agent gets an IP address (verified with dhcpd), gets the pxelinux boot image and correct configuration file (verified with tftpd), and then

WDS and PXELinux
Dear All, First posting here... I am trying to integrate a PXELinux boot into my native-mode WDS server. I have found that making WDS boot the PXELinux is easy (see below), it is making PXELinux give control back to WDS that I have not cracked yet. -In your WDS server, copy the contents of your tftpboot folder to the Boot\x86 folder in your RemoteInstall one. -Open the Windows Deployment

floppy image issues
Hi! sorry for the top post. I have had some troubles in the past trying to make equipment to boot a floppy with MS-DOS that also used ms networking to access the network. Particularly the Gateway GSX 500 cannot have the onboard NIC with PXE enabled, as it eats about 92k of highmemory, which in turn makes impossible to start Windows XP setup due to low memory. On that particular machine I had

keeppxe - documentation recommendation
Summary ======= I have a recommendation for a minor documentation change regarding 'keeppxe'. I lost some time on this and think that a clarification could save other people time in the future. pxelinux.doc should be tweaked to explicitly say that the "keeppxe" option should be given on the kernel command line through the APPEND statemen Detail ====== pxelinux.doc line 356

[PATCH] Fix recognition of keeppxe option
PXELINUX has stopped recognizing the keeppxe option on the kernel command line. Here is a patch to make it work again. With COM32, it is no longer possible to use preprocessor directives to determine the SYSLINUX variant. The code inside the #if will never be compiled. So, I changed it to use syslinux_filesystem() to determine the variant. Also, I moved the relevant code from

version 3.35 boot error
Nice to see the venerable syslinux updated to version 3.35. I did happen to encounter an issue with the latest release though. I performed 'syslinux -f' on a 32MB USB drive and all seemed well...until I tried to boot from it. Error message and drive details below: - - - /error message: SYSLINUX 3.35 2007-01-28 EBIOS Loading Invalid or corrupt kernel image. boot: /bootable USB drive

syslinux PXE boot version upgrade, network no longer working
Thanks Ady. I have to stick with stable vs. experimental but I appreciate the Debian suggestion. I don't mean to troll anyone, but... how is 6.03 considered stable if it does not correctly support keeppxe? I have to go all the way back to 4.xx for this to be supported? Wow. I still couldn't find it in the docs online where it states keeppxe doesn't work. I have some "detail
