Error reported by pxelinux: Failed to free base memory, error code FF01-027E-9F6B040E.
Hey,
It is some real awesome work you are doing. Thanks.
I have been trying to use gpxe - pxelinux to boot Linux from a remote
location.
It works with pxelinux 2.02 and lower. However pxelinux 2.03 and higher
return errors and booting is incomplete. Why?
syslinux-3.00 gives the following dump and hence the system does not boot.

gPxe functionality in pxelinux
I have an interesting situation where I am loading gpxelinux.0 v3.72 from pxelinux.0 ( older ). I have a stanza
that I use after loading gpxelinux such as :

kernel pxelinux.new.0
label recovery.http
kernel http://kickstart/pxelinux.new/vmlinuz-ramdisk
append initrd=http://kickstart/pxelinux.new/ramdisk.img.gz ramdisk_size=358400 ramdisk_blocksize=1024

gpxe help
Hello,
This is my first post. Please forgive me if I am not posting this in the
right location. I work at a college where we clone staff computer every now
and then. We have an internal network in our office. There is a Linux NAT,
DHCP, PXE server in our office separating the two networks. Internally, we

PXELINUX, pxechain.com and Etherboot
Hi,
Anyone has tried to use pxechain with Etherboot? Here is my problem:
The Etherboot client had no problem to get the list of install servers
manual from the pxechain. But didn't matter which server was chosen,
Etherboot client always tried to use the first server to do the
installation. Etherboot 5.4 was used.
What the problem may be? PXEchain or Etherboot?
Thanks,
Joyce

Easy way to replace gPXE ROM?
This may be a better question for the Xen-Devel list, but I''ll start here...
Does anyone know if there is any easy way to replace the gPXE ROM with a newer version in Xen? Also, anyone know if there are any plans to have some sort of option in the domU config file to specify a boot rom? Looks like qemu-dm has an "-option-rom" option - is there any way in Xen to make use of

"Failed to free base memory" once again
Hi,
I got the following output booting through PXElinux. I used a netboot
floppy image for my ISA NE2000 (RTL8019) network card to download the
pxelinux.0 file from my server. I use syslinux 3.07. Here's my output:

gpxe + SYSLINUX menus = Fail?
I am attempting to setup a test gpxe(linux.0) http site, to test among
other things the recent dynamic option 252 solution.
In the process of investigation I stumbled across
http://www.etherboot.org/wiki/appnotes/authmenus which indicates the
gpxe can launch vesamenu.c32 directly. Various other pages on
etherboot's site indicate menu.c32/vesamenu.c32 can be used
independently as well.

gpxe and pxelinux
I have been looking at the etherboot site and at the syslinux/pxelinx
sites trying to figure out how to use gpxe, and I am a bit confused. :)
In a nutshell, I simply want to use http to grab the config and messages
files. (I need those files to be dynamic.)
I tried just replacing pxelinux.o with gpxelinux.0. But, gpxe complains
(A LOT) about unrecognized commands. I can't find a simple

Confusion on lpxelinux vs. gpxelinux vs. ipxe vs gpxe.

A fork is a fork, regardless the reasons behind it (yes, I have some
understanding in this case). iPXE is based off of forking further
development as of a certain gPXE commit with some backporting of gPXE
development to iPXE.

Remove gpxe or replace with ipxe?
For me the motivation for gpxelinux.0 was the HTTP support. If this would
work reliably in newer versions then I could happily live without a
iPXE-based pxelinux.

Bug#592875: pxelinux: incompatible with qemu with kvm enabled
it seems versions of pxelinux 4.00 and later hangs qemu (0.12.x, 0.13.x) when
network booting using etherboot or gPXE and qemu's kvm support is enabled.
pxelinux 3.86 and earlier do not appear to trigger the problem. i also didn't
experience the problem with qemu-kvm (formerly known as kvm). qemu without kvm
support enabled also seems to work fine.

Is there a howto for using redboot to kickoff a pxelinux boot?
The subject says it all.
I'm using rocks cluster software to startup a small blade cluster in my
lab. The blades I have redboot installed on them. I am able to boot
any client that has pxeboot capability using my setup, except for these
blades. My thoughs were using redboot commands to do the following:
1. load -v -r -b 0x8000000 -h 10.1.1.1 pxelinux.0
2. start
This however caused my

Passing commands from pxelinux to gpxe ?
Hi All,
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've managed to get
pxelinux to load gpxe and then manually load linux by
using the gpxe command line and HTTP for the kernel and
initial ram disk.
My question is whether it is possible to somehow pass
gpxe commands through some mechanism other than
the DHCP filename response. Since I don't have control
over our DHCP infrastructure, but do
