[LLVMdev] AutoRegen.sh bug
Hi, I am just starting a new project. I found that the above script rejects Autoconf versions later than 2.59, whereas it ought to accept them, imho. I had to edit the scrip to be able to use it with Autoconf 2.61. Also, aclocal gave the following warning: /usr/share/aclocal/oaf.m4:4: warning: underquoted definition of AM_PATH_OAF /usr/share/aclocal/oaf.m4:4: run info '(automake)Extending

swiotlb buffer is full
Hello, I've noticed firefox got randomly stuck, and as sometimes that leads to a complete system lock-up, I've checked dmesg and got this: [Jan29 10:49] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: swiotlb buffer is full (sz: 2097152 bytes) [ +0.000033] swiotlb: coherent allocation failed for device 0000:01:00.0 size=2097152 [ +0.000004] CPU: 6 PID: 1023 Comm: Xorg Not tainted 4.15.0-rc8 #1 [ +0.000003]

VNC vs GNOME desktop
I'm trying to use VNC to connect my home Centos box (up to date centos 5) to my Centos 4 (also up to date) at work. I have no problem connecting. The problem occurs after logging in, for every applet in the bottom Gnome panel I get an error box from which I can choose to remove the applet from the panel, or just go on. I choose to not delete but to just go on. After I get a half dozen or so of

How to use publickey from x509 certificate?
Hello, I have the following problem: I want to use publickey authentication by using the publickey of a x509 certificate stored on a java card. I can already extract the publickey of the certificate and write it into a file. The problem i have is that i don't know how to convert the certificate's publickey into an rsa publickey format that openssh will accept. Does anybody have a

high cpu load
I think I have narrowed down the problem why smbd processes are soaking up so much CPU on our file server. Here are some selected samples from strace output as I attached to the offending smbd process: Culprit #1 I took three sample snapshots, each lasted for several seconds, and I took them minutes apart from each other. I noticed many lines involved stat'ing the a single file in the

SAS/short stroking vs. SSDs for ZIL
Hi, as I have learned from the discussion about which SSD to use as ZIL drives, I stumbled across this article, that discusses short stroking for increasing IOPs on SAS and SATA drives: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/short-stroking-hdd,2157.html Now, I am wondering if using a mirror of such 15k SAS drives would be a good-enough fit for a ZIL on a zpool that is mainly used for file

fontconfig-2.1.93 considered more harmful
There is an ongoing thread "fontconfig-2.1.92 considered harmful" on -CURRENT. Because I have not moved to -CURRENT, I post this to -STABLE. Since I upgraded to fontconfig-2.1.93 (on Apr 14) a lot of ports start to complain a lot of "Cannot fork: Resource temporarily unavailable" errors. What resource ? I inserted top into my ports build script to notice that a lot of

[PATCH 0/1] drm/nouveau/disp: prefer identity-mapped route of SOR <-> macro link
Hi Ben, still _assuming_ it's an issue of the card I thought about why it works with the NVIDIA binary driver. And I can image they're just trying to do an identity-mapping first and if that doesn't work (e.g. the particular SOR is already in use by another macro link) they just pick the next suitable one. So the case would be that the NVIDIA binary driver always assignes the only
