tftp-hpa to boot aix
i am using tftp-hpa 0.32 to transfer boot image files of an aix 5.2 system. packets begin to go across the network and then they stop at about 4200 packets. when i boot from aix bootp server 15227 packets are transfered. i have tried with both xinetd and standalone modes with many different options. i am not sure why it is failing to transfer the entire image. are there certain options with

Netbooting memtest86
I've been trying to figure out how to netboot memtest86 since terminals don't have local drives and I don't want to have to fish for disks with the memtest program on them for my machines that do. I'm in an etherboot environment where I can't figure out how to create a network tagged image of memtest86. Evidently I can use pxe somehow to allow me to start the memtest.bin file

PXEboot: can't find configfile on tftpd server
Hello, I've got several machines which I'm trying to netboot, the setup is a bootserver using dhcpd3 and tftpd-hpa. When a machine boots up, it gets an ip address and downloads pxelinux.0 from the server, then it starts searching for pxelinux.cfg/[MACADDRESS] pxelinux.cfg/0A0000F0 and so on. On the server side I see in the syslog the client's DHCP-request and the client downloading

6.1-PRERELEASE nfs root troubles
currently i'm trying to setup diskless client, which netboots 6.1-PRERELEASE kernel with help of etherboot. i've built custom kernel with `sudo make -j4 buildkernel KERNCONF=DISKLESS CPUTYPE=pentium-mmx -DNO_MODULES' and attached config. kernell loads off tftp server fine, detecting devices, but traps, when trying to mount root fs from nfs server. i've managed to get copy of

pxelinux bootup problems on EPIA-M
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had a good dhcpd.conf and /tftpboot files for a EPIA-M motherboard with RedHat 9.0.... Or maybe just a configuration that works with the EPIA-M (doesn't matter which type of linux). I'm trying to boot the system from the network and it seems to be getting to downloading pxelinux.0 but then nothing happens after that.... I'm using ISC dhcpd V3.0pl2,

dual disk netboot approach
Hello, My challenge is to run Linux on a computer where I don't dare to touch the Microsoft Windows harddisk. Fifthteen years ago would be trick to attach a second harddisk to the computer and boot from floppy disk. In 2011 is the idea to attach a second disk and netboot it. One approach is to TFTP the kernel and append 'root=/dev/sdb1' This E-mail is however to seek advice for

I've been using pxelinux with good success to netboot knoppix systems. This is link has been the base for my work so far: http://www.babytux.org/articles/howto/how2netknoppix.php I keep all of the netbootable systems in /tftpboot/systems/knoppix-#.##, where knoppix-#.## is the filesystem extracted from the knoppix cd. I use a variation on the knoppix-terminalserver script to generate a

CentOS6 and netboot
Is there any chance the system-config-netboot* rpms upstream removed from CentOS6 could be provided in extras? The CentOS5 SRPM builds cleanly under CentOS6, and upstream's workaround is insufficient as it only covers diskless clients, not helpful if you need pxeos.
