patch: SDI Xpe images support for pxelinux
Hi, I added support in pxelinux for SDI (Wndows XP embedded images) files a few time ago for specific needs. It works well (at least for me atm) and I think I can now submit it to this list. I get a very good improvement in speed over the traditional way of loading SDI images. * Links : The 'diff -urN' patch for syslinux-2.11 (documentation included) :

I download the latest Binutils to make the *objdump* and *objcopy*. with both of these utilities to create new pxelinux.raw. then, the error message shows me that, objcopy -O binary pxelinux.elf pxelinux.raw ../lzo/prepcore pxelinux.raw pxelinux.bin ../lzo/prepcore: pxelinux.raw: output too big (30165, max 0) make[1]: *** [pxelinux.bin] Error 1

Syslinux Digest, Vol 93, Issue 1
All, Thanks for all your help. Now, I can compile the latest source code base on RedHat 5.5 after update nasm(to 2.09) and binutil(2.17). And *make spotless* before *make* under core/ directory. But with the new pxelinux.0, the PXEClient can not bootup. The error info, No valid file system found! And stuck in there. I think maybe the gcc cause the problem. My gcc version is 4.1.2. Thanks aaron

Introducing a new com32 module : HDT
Since a while, I've been contributing some code to syslinux to improve the hardware detection. Most of that code have been revamped from other project like dmidecode or the linux kernel itself. The com32 api is really a nice play for developing new features. All of that work is only available in libraries or sample code. During his fosdem presentation

Thanks for responses. I use GRUB as my bootloader in my hard disk now. I have a Windows in sda1, Ubuntu in sda3. If I want to install extlinux to boot Ubuntu, should I follow the steps below? 1. in Ubuntu, go to extlinux folder, run command ./extlinux --install /boot 2. create an extlinux.conf in/boot 3. cd ../mbr 4. cat mbr.bin > /dev/sda (or use dd if=mbr.bin of=/dev/sda bs=404 count=1)

Syslinux Digest, Vol 101, Issue 26
Thank you. Can I find any BIOS interrupt to wait on packet arrival NIC interrupt that can be used in COM32 program? And, how do I extend pxelinux.0 that enables this feature in PXE UDP RECEIVE INTERRUPT? Is gPXE has such kind of interrupt? Re: SYSLINUX Digest, Vol 29, Issue 2
Sure, I don't mind testing it out on there for you, but, where do I find the pre releases to try then? At least we know it's between 2.13 and 3.00. That narrows it a bit I would think. Mind you, if it jumps up a major revision number, I guess that means a lot of changes went in. On 8/2/05, syslinux-request at zytor.com <syslinux-request at zytor.com> wrote: > Send SYSLINUX

DOS/Freedos: Can't use mkfloppyimg.sh or mkdiskimage for +8M images ( Murali (????? ?????) )
Sorry for the delay, I should not send email on an holiday week-end. I'll try to answer all the questions by explaining what does work for me right now, and what I'd like to do. I have a script to create the a USB stick or an ISO image. The boot media contains many DOS images, and I use versamenu to select one of them. If my DOS image is smaller than 8megs, everything is working fine as

Embedding com32 modules and ldlinux.sys into one file
Hi, Tal, could you answer to 2 questions: - what is amount of ROM you're intending to use? (actually 8 MB SPI or parallel NOR flash chip can contain some minimalist Linux distribution) - which chip do you plan to flash to, motherboard BIOS or option ROM? Also, ROMOS comes without a license, so you'll have to contact the author for commercial usage. On other hand, ROMDSK is GPLed, and you
