menu.c32 error "Windows is bypassing your startup files"
Hey,
Firstly i like to say good work on your project, I love the ability to use
PXE to ghost all my machines without the use of floppy disks.
Now i managed to setup PXE correctly using a copy of Barts Boot Disk's with
ModBOOT and modified it to meet our company needs. This works perfect and i
can ghost not a problem using the standard loader prompt

Thanks!
I'd like to thank as an end-user all the people who have contributed to such
a great program as ISOLINUX is.
For the FreeDOS operating system (MS-DOS open source clone , freedos.org)
we've been putting togehter a 55MB distribution on cdrom, and your ISOLINUX
project proves it's very easy to add it to existing cdrom's to make them
(multi)bootable.
Thanks to both your effors

Patching your own boot-disk from first principles
Hi,
I'm trying to build a bootable MSDOS disk and put it on a ISO with floppy and hard disk emulation. I want to use commonly available Linux tools like dd, losetup, mkdosfs, memdisk etc.
I have done the following:
1. dd if=/dev/zero of=myImage bs=1M count=50 [ Builds a 52MB image ]
2. losetup /dev/loop0 myImage [Links /dev/loop0 to myImage file ]
3. vi /grub/stage1; %!xxd; [ NULL the partion

floppy's led doesn't turn off. Can I safely pull off the floppy media?
syslinux 3.11 (from debian's 3.11-3 package) does it job. The machine boots as expected
with an 1.44 floppy. Yet the floppy driver's led doesn't turn off.
1) Is this a syslinux issue?
2) Can I safely remove the boot floppy (media) without dameging it?
From memory:
$ cat syslinux.cfg
say linux 2.6.14 (probably with debian modifications)
default linux
append root=/dev/nfs

Mac Text editors
Hi everyone,
I've recently moved from using a windows machine to a Mac (some might call it an upgrade, others not?I'll let you be the judge). Once I started using Notepad ++ on my windows machine, I really began to like it. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what the free text editor options are for the Mac (Notepad ++ is windows only). I've dabbled with Linux before and used

Re: Samba - root preexec & login scripts
Last night at home, and on a second system today at work, I tried
putting in the sample preexec statement contained in the smb.conf man
page to check it's effect on the domain logons. Just like the preexec
for the perl script it kills domain logons. As that script is right in
the smb.conf man page I'd certainly expect that to work.
As one final shot at this I'll post my smb.conf for

reloadable classes for other base classes than the built-ins
I''m working on the plugin for RBatis and a new little thing I''m toying
around with called ActiveMessaging (sorry, David I stole the name from
you from the TW AwayDay ;-)). Anyway, in both these applications I
want to be able to have reloadable classes that don''t extend any of
the standard built in ones.
So, I don''t mean to offend the Eminent Core Members by

Fixes and workarounds for regressions and issues in the randr-1.2 branch
Hi,
Please find attached the patches which I currently use on my desktop
machine for dual head with the randr branch to fix the issues which I found.
They may help others as well but may e.g. also disable the Xv blitter
which might be working for some (but didn't on my card) - more information
is found in the text comments in the patches.
I have to hurry so this is short, will be back.

This was working fine (for around 2 weeks), but I decided to click the

Smbpasswd problem fine before but now ?
I set up a LM ( Linux Mandrake ) machine a 6 or 7 months ago with LM8.2 and
samba 2.2.8a.
I set up a 5 disk software raid 5 and made 5 accounts and 5 entries into
smbpasswd using
smbpasswd -an XXXXXX
All went fine, nothing out of the usual happened and all users could hammer
the raid remotely to see if it died.
I have just resurrected the machine, which has been powered down for about 4
months

It fails to address the concerns raised, so we have no other option
than to reject it.

The use of alarm() here is inappropriate (and possibly incorrect as
well, see below). As stated

Hello
I am getting ready to install chan_h323. Just updated my * with the latest
code from CVS (12/08/03). I was reading the Readme file and confused.
Quoted from the README
