Hi. Are there any gotchas to installing SYSLINUX in the PBR of a partition, and not the MBR of the overall hard drive? The reason I want to do this, is to take my "PXE-on-a-disk" project, and install it simply into one very small (1MB or so) FAT16 partition. ftp://ftp.scyld.com/private/jlehan/pxe-on-a-disk.html This partition would be placed near the very beginning of the drive.

The BIOS on my laptop does not support booting from USB. I would like to be able to have my Windows XP on a partition on a USB disk drive and be able to run from the USB disk using perhaps a CD or floppy to bootstrap the system. My questions: 1). Before I do that, I would need to remove the gcj stuff that are in /usr/bin. If I know how to remove gcj, I'd gladly do that. However, for the particular version of the OS, the entire GCC seems to be bundled into one rpm, and I could not remove just the gcj component. Neither do I wish to mess with files that are part of some RPMs--- in my experience that's invitation for trouble later.
