isolinux and multiple serial consoles
Greetings, I'm using isolinux and I'd like to make it spawn serial consoles to all four devices (ttyS{0..3} / COM{0..3})... if spawning on just one (serial 0 38400), everything works great, however, should I attempt to spawn on all four, no console is available at all. How come? The relevant part of isolinux.cfg: serial 0 38400 serial 1 38400 serial 2 38400 serial 3 38400 Thanks in

mounting CDROM without mapaping UC to LC
Hi! this is surely a newbie question, so I should know the answer, but I'm fighting with mounting a CD such that filenames are NOT mapped to lowercase (I need to use its on-board tools for accessing files on it while mounted on Centos 6.5, and those tools assume uppercawse, since they assume the entire world runs Windoze.) but despite my best efforts, it keeps being mounted with UC-LC

UDF code for 4-STABLE?
Hi all, Can anybody point me at the UDF code for FreeBSD 4-STABLE? There's a link at http://people.freebsd.org/~scottl/udf/ to some code, but the website (http://www.softweyr.com/asmodai/projects/udf) doesn't have the code any more. Many thanks in advance! Warren

[LLVMdev] Adding ARM UDF / UND instruction to TableGen
I'm preparing a patch which adds the general form of the "permanently undefined" instruction (A8.8.247) to ARM TableGen for disassembly purposes. I've placed it below the TRAP variants already defined, and those are decoded in preference to it, so that isn't an issue, and it has no pattern so should never occur during codegen. It seems as though none of the gas versions

UDF filesystem on 4-STABLE?
Hi all, I'm trying to find out if UDF support can be added to 4-STABLE. The web page http://people.freebsd.org/~scottl/udf/ says that such a thing can be found at http://www.softweyr.com/asmodai/projects/udf, but the latter URL is broken. Any pointers will be greatly appreciated. Warren

I/O errors when backing up from ext3 to UDF
Hi. I'm trying to back up from an ext3 filesystem to an IOMega Rev USB cartridge drive, which uses a UDF filesystem. It appears to the system as /dev/scd0, but can be mounted in R/W mode. I get a bunch of errors like this: rsync: mkstemp "/media/usb/backup_dir/home/support/data-old/clipart/STANDARD/STDDIR3/.PE01617_.WMF.M9ACqm" failed: Input/output error (5) There are

64/32 auto select
One idea - how about making ISOLINUX swichable between IA32 and AMD64 automatically? A sample config is like this. ----------------------------------------- Under ISOLINUX.CFG: label default arch=IA32: kernel=vmlinuz.32 initrd=image32.gz arch=AMD64: kernel=vmlinuz.64 initrd=image64.gz ----------------------------------------- What is the merit?: You can use same CD for both

Problem with mkisofs (i guess :-))
Hello! I have a problem with a bootable cd that i'm trying to make .. The problem is that i don't know what all the mkisofs parameters do and because that weird things happen, if the filenames or directorynames contain spaces they do not open and if i'm in windows's safe mode it gives me an error message stating that the file or folder does not exist! Can anyone help with that?

Burning DVD with files>4GB from console
My backup script split filesystem dumps to files with size of 4,37 GB (4 588 544 kB). It's just an optimal size to fill out DVDs. At this moment I have to burn them from windows via smb-link becuase I didn't manage to do this task from FreeBSD console due to 2GB/4GB filesize restrictions (growisofs). I'm using freeware CDBurnerXP to burn my backups (ISO9660/UDF/Joliet), and they

Award BIOS fault
Hello. I found bug probably comes from BIOS fault. It does not boot from CDROM if the PC has only CDROM drive but no HDD. I mean, it can boot from CDROM if the PC has HDD but not boot if no HDD. I think BIOS returns wrong info. But I appriciate if there comes workaround. BTW, I got another problem -- I can not compile syslinux 3.07. What version of nasm you use? --- Okajima, Jun.

fstype=auto breaks updatedb
It turns out that if you specify filesystem type `auto' in /etc/fstab, updatedb (the thing which updates your `locate' database) ceases to work. Here's the contents of my /etc/updatedb.conf: PRUNEFS="devpts NFS nfs afs proc smbfs autofs auto iso9660" PRUNEPATHS="/tmp /usr/tmp /var/tmp /afs /net" export PRUNEFS export PRUNEPATHS deleting the `auto' entry
