[PATCH] syslinux/core: Remove discrepancy between code comments and compiled code in malloc.h
From: Brett Walker <brett.walker at geometry.com.au>
Remove a discrepancy between code comments and the definition for arena_header,
ARENA_PADDING and free_arena_header.
When the size of int and pointer are both 32-bits; and compiled with
DEBUG_MALLOC undefined; the following are true: sizeof(arena_header) == 16
and sizeof(free_arena_header) == 56.
To correct this, the type of _pad needs

Mismatch between code comments and reality in malloc.h
Hi Devs,
I've been doing some deep code diving and I seem to have found a discrepancy between code comments and reality. This difference could hint at a bug or performance degradation, but I doubt it. I thought to ask to get clarification.
In syslinux/core/mem/malloc.h, the comments and definition for arena_header, ARENA_PADDING and free_arena_header are:

I' m a Gsoc Applier
Hello, I'm a student interested in the syslinux project of Gsoc.
And Isincerely hope to have the opportunity to apply the "Dynamic
linker/loader for modules" project.
But it seems the #syslinux channel is not so active and I can't contact
a mentor about that.
Could anybody help me?
Thank you!

[PATCH] com32: Include .init_array section in .ctors in linker script
From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at intel.com>
GCC 4.7 now places pointers to functions with the 'constructor' and
'destructor' function attributes in .init_array and .fini_array
sections, respectively, whereas previously they were in the .ctors and
.dtors sections. This change breaks the ctors/dtors code as it only
expects function to be in the .ctors and .dtors sections,

RHEL 7.3 released
I'm with Matthew Phelps on this. If CentOS is built with the exact same
sources as RHEL, why not keep the numbering scheme the same? That would
make life easier for people like me who build CentOS RPMs from
tarballs/SRPMS that run on RHEL and having to look up version numbers is
just idiotic. I mean, that's a Microsoft pet peeve of mine.
This is also why I don't deploy CentOS as

wormHunter.sh and friends
Evening all,
First: Obligatory thanks to Tom. Shorewall is GREAT! I''ve got it on 3
machines now and love it. (Just because they are obligatory does not mean
they are not heart-felt.)
On my main web server, I am constantly scanning my log files for
worm-signs. Requests for default.ida, any .exe, there are several others,
you probably have your favorite. I got tired of doing it by hand

kdewebdev aka Quanta or repository kde-redhat.sourceforge.net
does this exist for CentOS 4 ?
OK - next level of question then...
taking a wild swing, I set up /etc/yum.repos/kde-redhat.repo and for
S&G's, I ran the obligatory 'yum update' to see what would happen.
It's an aggressive update to be sure.
KDE 3.5.0 (and all the dependent stuff such as qt) but also samba and
openoffice.
Is anyone reporting happiness / contentment with

Running R from a read-only CD
Dear R-helpers:
I created a folder containing R on a read-only CD and use it by having the
R-icon, located on the Windows desktop, point to the CD
(R-2.8.1\bin\Rgui.exe) for the "Target," and to a Windows Desktop folder for
"Start in."
This works nicely EXCEPT that the R help() function cannot display anything,
and presents a screen message saying "This program cannot

Possible to resize a Windows guest's disk while online?
I'm looking for a way to online resize a Windows disk -- i.e., be able
to resize the disk without shutting down, rebooting, or detaching the
disk.
Is this at all possible? Or am I just barking up the wrong tree? I'm
not finding a way to do this and even Amazon has a weird workaround, in
which the user must write data to the newly resized-drive in order to
recognize the new size

Can I add a point to a pointsGrob from an xyplot without redrawing ?
Hi:
I am a newbie using grid and lattice.
I want to update a xyplot without redrawing and I was wondering if there is
a way of adding a point to a pointsGrob ?
For example, take the example from the "R Graphics Book" page 218-219:
grid.newpage()
angle <- seq(0, 2*pi, length=21)[-21]
x <- cos(angle)
y <- sin(angle)
xyplot( y ~ x, aspect = 1)
Lets say I take the pointsGrob

[LLVMdev] Error prone default memory capturing convention of blocks.
Hi guys,
I've been using blocks for a while and found that current behavior is error prone. So I am going to propose to you the better one.
Motivation:
1) The __weak variables in blocks are very common pattern. So having any implicit default behavior makes thing worse.
2) Some stupid mistakes like:
__weak typeof (self) theSelf = self;
...^ {
theSelf.blabla = ..
....
[self blabla];
