TFTP-HPA beginner needs help
Thank you for the info Groeten. I have the TFTPD-HPA server address set to 192.168.1.9:69 I am unable to ping this address and I wonder if the server address should be the same as the network interface card (ethernet card) I am using. The files I want to upload are in /srv/tftpboot, so I'm not sure why the command cd /tmp was used. John At 03:21 PM 9/2/2015, Geert Stappers via Syslinux

building hpa tftp under cygwin?
First- I'm admittedly a newbie both to the cygwin environment and to the hpa tftp. My apologies if this is the wrong list to ask this question. If so, slap me around a little.... I tried to build tftp-hpa under cygwin. The 0.37 version throws errors during the ./configure process, warning about winsock2.h and winsock.h being present but not buildable. The 0.36 version appears to

tftpd-hpa: remap '/tftpboot/ncd4/foo' into 'ncd4/foo'
Hello, This about remapping in the HPA tftp server. A client does request for '/tftpboot/ncd4/foo' which should be 'ncd4/foo' I have created a remap file that looks now like this: r tftpboot/ncd4/modshmx/login.hmx ncd4/modshmx/login.hmx r tftpboot/ncd4/modshmx/setup.hmx ncd4/modshmx/setup.hmx r tftpboot/ncd4/modshmx/term.hmx ncd4/modshmx/term.hmx Because r

tftp-hpa server with multiple network interfaces
Hello, A host of mine which acts as a gateway for a cluster also acts as a dhcp and tftp server for the cluster nodes. Recently, for reasons that are not really important we changed the interfaces so that eth0 is conencted to our production network and the eth1 network is connected to the cluster's internal network. It was the opposite before. Normally, we want most of the services running on

Can't get hpa-tftpd working on Slackware 9.1
Hi, I have a question on tftpd on Slackware - I know this is an embedded Linux forum, but I think it still must be the appropriate place to ask. I have hpa-tftpd V0.40 on Slackware 9.1. No matter what I do, I can't get files transferred to the tftp server. I just get timeouts - no messages in /var/log/messages or in /var/log/syslog - just dealthly silence. This is the configuration line

tftpd-hpa: the tftpdir is ignored if --secure isn't used
If I omit --secure from the tftpd-hpa command line, I then need to e.g. `tftp -c get /var/lib/tftpboot/vmlinuz` instead of plain /vmlinuz, even though I pass /var/lib/tftpboot as the tftp dir in the tftpd-hpa command line. That essentially means that I'm exporting my whole /, which is clearly something I don't want to do. I basically want tftpd-hpa to serve files from /var/lib/tftpboot

tftp problems
I've used TFTP server on CentOS/RHEL 7 and 8 but not 9, so take my notes with the appropriate grain of salt... JIC, confirm on the TFTP server you have a process socket for it, e.g. $ netstat -a | grep tftp udp 0 0 0.0.0.0:tftp 0.0.0.0:* Your 'systemctl status' output implies things are OK, but worth a check. I don't see a "tftpboot" symlink

tftp server error
I have got a Solaris 9 package build from the latest tftp software at ftp.kernel.org. When I do the following: ./in.tftpd -l -s /tftpboot -m /tftprules -v The tftp server does not start. The error in /var/adm/messages is "too many -s directories". If i do ./in.tftpd -l -s /tftpboot -v then it works fine. But i need remap feature for my project. The message I get when i do

tftpd-hpa issue: I think, anyway
I have spent the last two hours on this issue. I think there's a problem with tftp-hpa. Setup: attempting to use Debian FAI, but there is definitely a problem with PXELINUX. pxelinux.0 is obviously being loaded by clients, but *nothing* in the pxelinux.cfg directory can be loaded. Clients sit and spin on their MAC files and when they get to default nothing happens. This is

tftp-hpa 5.2
Hello everyone, I am having difficulties in setting up a tftp server on a Fedora 3.14.8-200.fc20.x86_64. Running tftp client to test the server functionality, a simple get from the terminal prompts 'Transfer timed out.' back. The version is tftp-hpa 5.2, with remap, with tcpwrappers, unfortunately I am not able to find any log in the system journal.? The server and related services appear

put command is not working in tftp server
Hi Friends, I am trying to configure a tftp server on Centos 5.0. get command is working fine but not the put command. I searched on the google and tried few things like 777 on /tftpboot, changing ownership to nobody on /tftpboot and also in /etc/xinetd.d/tftp, adding -c as server_args but still the problem persists. tftp -v localhost Connected to localhost.localdomain (127.0.0.1), port 69

tftp-hpa loads but stalls
Hello, I am attempting pxelinux via dhcpd/tftpd. If I use the system default tftpd daemon, then pxelinux loads but then complains about the tsize option. I've downloaded tftp-hpa-0.34, compiled and installed. I also edited inetd.conf according to README.security and then reloaded inetd. /tftpboot directory and all files and directories have nobody:nobody for permissions with at least read

[CentOS 5] tftp-server, unable to create new files (even with "-c" option)
Hi all, I'm trying to setup a TFTP server to serve as repository for the config of all my Cisco network devices. As per the the tftpd man, I've added the "-c" option into the /etc/ xinetd.d/tftp (as follows) but I still cannot get write access (unless the file is already present). [root at chl1 ~]# cd /etc/xinetd.d [root at chl1 xinetd.d]# cat tftp # default: off #

Intel Boot Agent: PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout for correctly configured tftp-hpa
Hello. In my case I can successfully boot up my Thinkpad X32, but the same configuration doesn't work for my desktop computer with Intel network card, with Intel Boot Agent 2.2 DHCP server is 10.0.0.1, tftpd (used tftp-hpa) runs on 10.0.0.32. netstat told me the daemon listen to 69 UDP port just fine. running tftp in commandline also shows it works (retrieve pxelinux.0 less then 1 second).
