Hi We have setup a TFTP server on a server running Fedora Core 2. We have a network/router appliance that acts as our DHCP server. The DHCP server gives our workstations an IP address then directs them to our TFTP server looking for the boot file named pxelinux.0 . On the TFTP server we have a directory called tftpboot in this directory we have the following files: - memdisk -

[fdo] Linux with Graphics and Sound
Hello Linus Torvalds, Paul Davis, The state of most desktop and office applications under Linux seem quite healthy. People are working hard making the Linux desktop work. Yet, I am very sorry, but I cannot describe the deployment and maintaince of 3D graphics and sound API's as well as drivers as anything other than woeful. My hope is an enviroment where both open-source and commcial

EFI & PXE-booting: very slow TFTP performance on a VMWare test setup
Dear people on the Syslinux Mailinglist, Are there any known problems with the performance of TFTP in (U)EFI environments in general or maybe just on VMWare? Right now I'm running tests on two virtual environments using either VMWare Workstation 11.1.0 on a Fedora 21 system or VMWare Player 7.1.0 on an Ubuntu 14.10 system. Both virtual systems support PXE booting in UEFI mode. Both systems

run pxelinux.0 on a booted system
I am trying to come up with a 'clever' way to pxe-boot boxes that don't have any way to pxe boot. as in, old laptops that only have pc-mica nics. "Etherboot does not (yet) offer support for PCMCIA cards." http://www.etherboot.org/wiki/pcmcia_support I am not trying to do 'that' - just trying to come up with a process to work around it. Something like this:

syslinux.efi problem TFTPing ldlinux.e64 on hyper-v gen2 netboot
I've found a problem, and I think it is in syslinux (specifically when it tries to load ldlinux.e64 under hyper-V). I have a physical computer with a Gigabyte GA-P85-D3 motherboard that successfully pxeboots using the EFI images, and I hold that up as exhibit 1 that my deployment environment works. It also implies that the syslinux.efi image works in some cases, but not in all. My Hyper-V

Problems with x86_64 kickstart
I have successfully set up a very nice kickstart install with the i386 version of CentOS 4.3 and it works great. I am using a custom kickstart script and the kernel and initrd from disc1/images. But when I try to duplicate this for a 64 bit setup (changing paths in my tftp server, ks.cfg, etc to point to the 64 bit stuff) it successfully tftp's everything just as it should (tethereal

PXE boot hangs while transferring vmlinuz or initrd.img
Hi, I have a user that is experiencing problems pxe booting several identical servers. pxelinux.0 is from syslinux 3.63 and the TFTP server is 0.42 running on CentOS 5.2. After loading pxelinux.0, the client will then start transferring vmlinuz and initrd.img via tftp. More than half the time, the transfer will get stuck and then eventually print a timeout message. I ran tcpdump and I can see

Hi All, I am still having troubling with PXE. The ROM of onboard network card was enabled, the chip on the card is Realtek R8111B. Everything was fine at the booting stage, machine got the IP and booted up with the pxelinux, then kernel vmlinuz and initrd.img
