Does not auto boot after time out
I am having difficulty trying to figure out how to get a computer to boot from it's local disk automatically after the pxe menu times out. I installed syslinux-3.11-4 with yum onto CentOS 5.5 It boots to the local disk if I select Local from the menu and press enter but it never times out and boots localy. The AUTOBOOT message doesn't appear either. Which instructions in the PXELINUX

PXE/Memdisk/bootimage having a fight
I have tried to get this working SO many times, everywhere I look on the web tells me i have this correct. I have the following stanza in my /tftboot/lts/pxelinux.cfg/default label Ghost kernel memdisk append initrd=netboot.img For some reason, it doesn't work - I get the error messages Missing parameter in config file Could not find kernel image: linux boot: The netboot.img is in the

Netboot and PXELINUX
Hi all, I have just been informed that Netboot (http://netboot.sourceforge.net/) can be used to produce PXE boot ROMs. I wonder if anyone has tried running this combination with PXELINUX? This is obviously a really big deal... :) -hpa

PXE question
I was wondering, where is the format and options of files like /usr/share/system-config-netboot/pxelinux.cfg/default from system-config-netboot-cmd described? There are plenty of PXE tutorials with examples out there, but nothing that looks like actual documentation.

pxelinux HTTP transport UEFI vmlinuz
Hi, Since which version of pxelinux.0 is understood in pxelinux.cfg/default that kernel http://host.lan/netboot/vmlinuz means vmlinuz should be transported over HTTP? Since which version of pxelinux.0 is it possible to boot on UEFI? Those questions elaborated: What I want is fast netboot UEFI servers. What I'm looking for is an advice which version of PXELINUX between version

CentOS6 and netboot
Is there any chance the system-config-netboot* rpms upstream removed from CentOS6 could be provided in extras? The CentOS5 SRPM builds cleanly under CentOS6, and upstream's workaround is insufficient as it only covers diskless clients, not helpful if you need pxeos.

How to PXE Boot
Folks, Are there updated instructions on how to set up PXE boot under CentOS 5.x? I found that the system-config-netboot RPM has been absent, and the instructions written reference it, with a bug report not yet closed on Red Hat. Thanks, OSC http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/Installation_Guide-en-US/s1-netboot-pxe-config.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2006-0380.html -- Are we headed

netboot, vnc and no keyboard/mouse/monitor
hey guys, I just created a custom netboot cd, that launches and loads from a http source, but connects to a vnc listening viewer. All in all, not hard to do, but what is different with this one is that it skips the media check, has no prompts and allows you to start the install on a machine that has no keyboard/mouse/monitor. Was handy for me as when i have some boxes to load, I just

pxelinux fron Floppy disk?
Hi there, we are using a couple of Diskless Linux Workstations in conjunction with PXE capabable Network cards to boot the system. This works fine using pxelinux. However, there are a few workstations left, which are not able to boot via PXE and thus this workstations need a Kernel on a floppy disk and an additional initrd image. The Problem with is, that both of them don't fit on a floppy

troubles with PXE APIS
Hi everybody, I'm a french student employed to develop the boot loader of some commercial kernel (real time one). Since the goal is to have a universal x86 netboot I had to use PXE apis. However I have troubles using them. Since our kernel is not GPL based I can't just patch syslinux for our purpose. I tryed to make a very simple netboot loader using intel doc but I was not able to

Upstream vendor's diskless vs LTSP
Hello all, I have a customer that insists of using upstream vendor's diskless (system-config-netboot) rather than LTSP. The reason is that he wants to use a 100% packages from the vendor, not from LTSP or any other party. I try the vendor's diskless system, and although it's very simple to setup, it lacks the support and/or documentation whereas LTSP is very good in it. Another
