To pause each screen text using syslinux
Hello syslinux, I am trying to add a page break in the license file. Could you help me to add a page break in the text file? I tried "^L" in every 25 lines but it didn't work. What I want to do is this. In the boot prompt, I want to display the license file by pressing F2 but the file is about 300 lines so it just scrolls up very quickly. Do you have any idea how to pause in each

syslinux timeout
Hi. I've ever wondered how nuch timeis left to timeout while waiting at the boot prompt, so I've writen this small patch to show it. This add a configuration command 'showtimeout'. If you like the patch I could improve it (for example to show the timeout in decimal because now it uses the writehex functions) Regards. -- ______ ________ / / \/ /___ ) I N T E G

Comboot for showing DOCS
hm, nice algorythm thingie. I'm not a programmer, so here goes: currently: F1 helpfile.txt probably results in DISPLAY helpfile.txt perhaps extend this option: F1 arg1 arg2 arg3 argX if arg1 does not exist, abort (currently also done?) if arg1 ends in COM extension, execute it and pass the optional arg2/3/X parameters if arg1 ends in C32 extension, same thing. else DISPLAY arg1 // arg1

Function key problem with isolinux
Hi, I don't know if that is intentional or a bug: ---<snip>--- DEFAULT 1 DISPLAY /isolinux/txt/message.txt PROMPT 1 F1 /isolinux/txt/about.txt F2 /isolinux/txt/message.txt ---<snap>--- if i boot into the system and press F2 i get about.txt. then i press F2 and get message.txt again. If i then press F1 again i do not get as expected the about.txt file, i just get another boot:

compact flash, fat, reduced knoppix and syslinux
Hi. I've recently picked up a 256MB compact flash card and CF->IDE adapter. I'm wanting to put a smaller version of knoppix on here. I came across miniknoppix here: http://www.inittab.org and decided to have a play around with that. So far I have opened up the ISO image and copied all the files out. I have put a boot sector onto the CF by putting the CF into the IDER adpater then

efi vesamenu 6.03-pre
This is a bug report about Syslinux 6.03-pre11 in EFI. To Syslinux EFI developers; the results can be replicated in real hardware. I apologize for the length of the email; I am describing the steps necessary to reproduce the confusing behaviors the best I can. I have been experimenting with VBox and Syslinux EFI32. In EFI, the default screen resolution for [vesa]menu.c32 is not 640 x 480

[RFC][PATCH] ui: label completion on tab key
This implements the label completion on tab key idea. It does introduce "labelcompl" as new config keyword. The default value is 0 so it does not change current behaviour. If you press tab with an empty command line it will display all labels. If the command line contains any characters it will display the matching labels. This patch is only intended for testing since i didn't check

isolinux.cfg - DISPLAY command - screen pause?
Hi, is there an option to have the DISPLAY command issue a pause after each screen full of information? I've been searching for a way to have users to agree to (or at least be able to read ) the GPL license. "by issueing a command other than F2 you agree that you are bound to the terms of the GNU Public License that is used on this FreeDOS beta9 cdrom. You can read the license terms by

Add CONFIGISOLINUX, CONFIGSYSLINUX, CONFIGEXTLINUX and CONFIGPXELINUX
I would like to see that it is possible to specify which config file should be loaded. I would like to have an extension of the CONFIG command. Normally CONFIG loads the file that is specified after it. It should be nice if syslinux/isolinux/pxelinux/extlinux can choose which config file to load, based on the bootloader from which the current config is runned. If I will explain it with an

New menu frontend to isolinux
Hi Peter, I'm doing some work for HP creating various flavours of bootable CDs, and am using isolinux for i386 and elilo for ia64. We wanted the same interface on both systems, with the ability to choose a boot option from a menu with the cursor keys. To implement this I enhanced isolinux to support two new control fields in the message file: 0x01 ^A Mark left- or right-hand end of the
