...realize that maybe I should go to kde w/this but then, I do run
centos on my systems soooo...
kk I like to run kde's file manager in super user mode. On one of my

Hello everyone, here is some php code.
Okay,
So remember that question I had last week about taking a bunch of relay servers
and greping the status2.xsl file for the number of listeners? I coded it. I
have to apologize right now, as its krufty, nasty, braindead code. But it
works, and I'm rather proud that after being up as long as I have been up
and drinking as much coffee, it works. It should be attached to this e-mail.

cheep laser printer recomendations
Hi!
I would like to hear what printers go good w/our operating system.
While back, I should have checked w/y'all like I'm doing now but I just
went ahead and bought a Konica-Minolta PagePro 1350W. Now that W at the
end of 1350 is a huge word that means WINDOWS! grrrr! It's a great
printer 21pgs/min etc but it doesn't like linux at all and their tech
spt will tell you as much. I

[LLVMdev] Clang 3.5 Release Pre-Pre-Pre-Announcement
Have you been sleeping poorly worried about the Clang 3.5 release? Well, this may help! The plan right now is to start testing in July with August as the target release month. There isn’t a schedule yet, of course. But it should be a goodly amount of time for all y’all to prepare for the release process.
If you have any questions, please let me know. If you’d like to volunteer to be a tester,

can you see the present?
here's a little present for y'all...

that's a screenshot of my latest project...
i've slapped a little text-editor in front of
my e-book conversion routines, so that
the feedback loop becomes much tighter,
goosing the learning process considerably.
no more mystery about whether it's right;

Keyboards
On my new Dell system, it's got a cardreader. More to the point, it's got
an idiot menu key... *right* next to the right control key, and just where
the annoying keyboard design has it cut down from the oversize space bar

Desktop Switcher
Hey Y'all,
Does CentOS have a desk top switcher similar to what you find on Fedora?
A friend of mine want's to be able to switch between desktops. I've
only got Gnome installed on my machine so I don't switch. A search of
Google turns up reference to CentOS 4 for desktop switcher but I don't
see anything for CentOS 6.3.

Disable Kernel Screen Blanker
Hey Y'all,
I'm trying to turn off the kernel screen blanker that shuts off the
video after about 10 minutes of inactivity at the keyboard. After
extensive googling I've found two ways to *NOT* do it.
In my home .xinitrc
setterm -blank 0 -powersave off -powerdown 0
xset s off
In /etc/rc.local
/usr/bin/setterm -powersave off -blank 0
I've tried both to no effect.
Of course

About the flash-plugin
Y'all may remember I posted here weeks ago, that flash-plugin was
crashing. There was an update this morning, which I did on my
workstation... and it hasn't crashed all day on either of the two radio
stations who I listen to via streaming media.

global variables in a function
Y'all,
I would like to have most of the variables in my function to be global
instead of local. I have not found any references that tell me now to
do that. If I have missed a reference please excuse me and tell me
what I have missed.
Thanks,

RAM Requirements
Hey Y'all,
Does anyone know where I can look, please post a URL, where I can find
out what the minimum system requirements are for CentOS 6.4?
I've searched the CentOS.org web site for this but I've come up empty.
I've got an old machine that had RH9 on it. The HD died so I had to
replace that. Now I'm thinking that I want to install CentOS 6.4 on it
but the minimal install

Rhythmbox Replacement
Hey Y'all,
I though I would resurrect a long dead mail chain.
I'm looking for a good replacement for Rhythmbox. I need a pod catcher
to catch podcasts and download them to my HD where I can then move them
onto my mp3 player that I take to work every day.
I don't need a new mp3 player so don't suggest VLC. It is not able to
download podcasts.
I'm in the process of

How are people managing startup/shutdown of winbindd?
Greetings,
I realize many people will never use winbindd, and thus it will likely not
get included in /etc/init.d/samba (on my Debian system; your file may vary)
by default, so another solution seems in order.
It's not as important to be able to start and stop winbindd now that it's
getting more robust, but I'd still like something.
How are y'all out there in Samba land

If help
Hi Y'all,
I have some data in a table with 2 columns. There are two values: "Reduction" and "No Reduction. " I am trying to make a new variable change which recode the combinations from column 1 and 2 into a single number. Here is a snippet from the table:
[1,] "NoReduction" "NoReduction"
[2,] "Reduction"
