The addition of ISO support in memdisk opened up some new alternatives that we also use, e.g. booting WinPE ISO images over PXE. Today I downloaded a BIOS for a HP EliteBook 8440p and discovered that the BIOS file is 3 MB. I could probably squeeze it onto a 2.88 MB floppy image

I've search the archives and google but didn't find any relavant info... How does one make a HD image? Floppy images are easy enough, but to have to create a hdimage, you need MBR and partitions, etc... I want to create a 10MB DOS HD and boot it, how would I do this with Linux? Thanks.

Hi, I once again have a problem with memdisk failing to boot a harddisk image to update my Thinkpad X200s firmware. I extracted the harddisk image from the eltorito type 4 ISO using the isobar tool. Then I added memdisk using this image as initrd to my grub, rebooted and it boots into PC DOS and then freezes (ctrl-alt-del still works to reboot the system). Inside Qemu however it works fine

Hi, I'm trying to use pxelinux+memdisk to boot to dos. And using dos tcp/ip connect to windows network. I've used winimage to create (dos.ima) image of dos bootable floppy. In other words: I'm suggesting to use WinImage as it also allows easy injection of new files *and* updating of already existing files. May I ask which vendor is distributing a DOS FW update that is 20MB? I'd like to see the files. Sometimes you just need the .bin/.rom and the actual FW update EXE and it would fit a 5MB FDD image.
