HDT 0.3.6-pre2 is out !
The -pre2 version of HDT 0.3.6 is out. Gert was a great source of motivation for making that -pre2. He found many bugs and gave nice ideas. Thanks Gert for your time and your _many_ tests. This release will be more or less what will be included in the incoming syslinux 3.84. Since -pre1, here come the Changelog * Reporting CPU L1 & L2 cache * Report "Hw.Virt" in cpu

SYSLINUX 2.10-pre2 is out
I have released SYSLINUX 2.10-pre2. I *really* would like testing reports for this one, especially ISOLINUX, since I've included Knut Petersen's fix for Award BIOSes... Changes in 2.10: * MEMDISK: Handle images compressed with zip as well as with gzip. Some Windows-based image tools apparently generate these kinds of images by default. Patch by Patrick

pxelinux 3.09 LOCALBOOT does not work (v3.07 does)
Hi, when trying to boot from local disk with PXELINUX v 3.09, the systems just beeps and hangs. The last message appearing on the screen is "Booting from local disk..." Running PXELINUX v 3.07 works for me (but I'd like to use v.3.09 because of the increased max command line size. The BIOS boot priority configuration is PXE/Disk/Disabled. Grub is installed in the MBR of the

Syslinux-6.02-pre2 - booting 32-bit kernels from efi64
I just released 6.02-pre2 which includes support for booting 32-bit kernels from efi64. I know a number of people wanted this feature, so hopefully it will be tested in various environments. One thing to note is that it is not possible to boot a 32-bit kernel from efi64 via the EFI handover protocol (or from firmware via the EFI boot stub), but the kernel loader in Syslinux is smart enough to

Calculate the latest Z-score of all zoo time series
Hello, I have a population of 2000+ zoo time series (but my environment also contains objects that are not zoo time series). I'm trying to calculate the latest 90 days Z-Score of all zoo time series, using the following code: LZS<-function(ser) { temp<-window(ser,start=Sys.Date()-90) last((temp-mean(temp))/sd(temp)) } sapply(ls(), LZS ) The LZS function works on individual zoo time

syslinux-6.04-pre2
Hi all, It has been the case for quite a while that the master tree is unambiguously better than 6.03. I have thus tagged and pushed out a syslinux-6.04-pre2 release, however, due to the issues with continuing to keep the main archive on kernel.org, I have moved the release archive to: https://www.zytor.com/pub/syslinux/ Other than the URL, there is no difference from the kernel.org archive.

SYSLINUX 3.73-pre2 (release candidate)
I have just pushed out SYSLINUX 3.73-pre2. This prerelease adds support for the fact that the ACPI 3 definition changes the E820 memory detection spec in an incompatible(!!!) manner. Please test it out, as I'd really like to push a 3.73 out as soon as possible. -hpa

Thank you - newhidups (2.03-pre2) works with my APC BackUPS ES 500
Hi there, I'm one of the maintainers of the SME Server distro (www.contribs.org) and we've been chasing this one for some time: http://www.contribs.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=352 http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsdev/2006-January/000543.html Many thanks to Peter Selinger and everyone else who helped with the debugging and patches. Thanks, Gordon

Extract DMI info when running PXELINUX
Hi all Is there any way to extract information (like what dmidecode provides) from within PXELINUX and, based on this information, selectively perform an action? What I'm trying to do is provide a method of flashing the BIOS of our HP Linux workstations but different workstations use different methods of updating the BIOSes. For example, the xw9300 uses 'rompaq' where the xw8400

SYSLINUX 2.09-pre2
This version contains a fix to mbr.asm, plus a version of Murali's menu system, but ported to gcc. Although gcc produces much bigger 16-bit code (since it's really 32-bit code with prefixes) I figured it would be much easier for people to deal with since it requires the configuration to be compiled in. That being said, it's a *very* powerful menu system, partially *because*

Problem with 3.08 under VMWare
Hi, I previously had extlinux 3.07 booting off a VMWare SCSI disk fine. After upgrading to 3.08, the system seem to hang after the EXTLINUX welcome/copyright message, even before the boot: prompt appears. Verified that downgrading back to 3.07 is fine, re-upgrading to 3.08 hangs again. Any ideas what might be wrong? Thanks. Regards, .lzs -- Lai Zit Seng http://pobox.com/~lzs/

Preparing the 2.0.3-pre2 release
Hi there, I'm preparing the 2.0.3-pre2 release. I've decided, as an exception (the second with the ones for 2.0.2, but hey, nut has a lot of late to resorb) to merge the USB improvements from the CVS Development branch. That means that the updated newhidups, as well as tripplite_usb and bcmxcp_usb if these are fine. To Charles and Wolfgang: any comments, objections, last things to be
