Netboot and PXELINUX
Hi all,
I have just been informed that Netboot (http://netboot.sourceforge.net/)
can be used to produce PXE boot ROMs. I wonder if anyone has tried
running this combination with PXELINUX? This is obviously a really big
deal... :)

PXE UNDI Options in PXELINUX
Hello
I wonder, if you know any more about the possibilities of having a
standard Network driver for most cards. Is there any such thing for
linux? Where do I get it? Is there possibly something for DOS? A UNDI
Packetdriver would be cool, because then I could use DosSCP on every
Network card I would ever be using with MemDisk (which in turn is very
cool.)

thanx and regards,

pxelinux fron Floppy disk?
Hi there,
we are using a couple of Diskless Linux Workstations in conjunction with PXE
capabable Network cards to boot the system. This works fine using pxelinux.
However, there are a few workstations left, which are not able to boot via
PXE and thus this workstations need a Kernel on a floppy disk and an
additional initrd image.
The Problem with is, that both of them don't fit on a floppy

ltsp kernel crash
Hi,
I've been using pxe-enabled nic's with an lzpxe-etherboot image generated
by rom-o-matic.net to boot a ltsp.org kernel, with dhcp 3 to use if statements to determine which filename
option he gives to the pxe/etherboot dhcp client.Explained at
http://www.ltsp.org/documentation/pxe.howto.html
This works perfectly, except for the fact that you can't use 1 etherboot pxe image for

pxelinux on a cdrom - possible?
I'm using PXE booting to make operating system installations.
There is one problem with it - it won't work when BIOS or NIC doesn't
support network booting.
Is it possible to put pxelinux somehow on a CD or on a floppy?

VFS: Cannot open root device, pxelinux nfsroot
Hi everyone,
I got the error:
NET4: Unix domain sockets 1.0/smp for linux NET4.0

Please append a correct "root"boot option
The strange thing is that it tries to mount from harddisk. This I got somewhere else:

ISOLinux + PXELinux
Is it possible to have a isolinux based boot CD, where one of the
options is to boot off the network. This would mean,
1. The kernel that one boots into is on the network and not on the CD.
So easy to make changes.
2. One does not need a 'PXE enabled' network card.

network boot nfs as root
Hello everyone,
I am using pxelinux to boot kernel from network, which goes ok.
But when root must be mounted from NFS, I get the following code:

RPC: sendmsg returned error 22
portmap: RPC call returned error 22

Windows Remote Install
I saw a section entitled "PXELINUX and the Windows Remote Install
Server", but there was nothing below it.
I'm trying to figure out how to do this. Any advise would be appreciated.
Do you suggest PXE, Etherboot, or Netboot? Could someone explain
the difference?
I still haven't figured out how all this fits together yet.
Thanks.

NFSroot over wifi in CentOS 7 - graceful shutdown problem
Hi,
I've got a task to have a small number of laptops netboot Linux over
WiFi. The kernel is loaded off the USB stick of cource, it's off topic
for now.
The WPA-supplicant daemon is started early by dracut off initrd. It
works. Mostly.
The problem is that upon shutdown systemd terminates all the processes
FIRST and unmounts filesystems NEXT.
Guess what? Upon termination,

probs running stuff from initrd
Hello all
Now I may be way of whack here, so please forgive me.
I''m trying to merge xen with redhat''s config-netboot. The idea being a
kinda stateless domU. For those that haven''t seen you share a rootfs and
then bind mount all the individual files over then top, and the redhat
gui builds all the pxeboot config and stuff for you if you want a
diskless client. I

A few questions and propostions on the samba architecture
Due to a few problems I encountered I had a tiny look at the samba code
and gut a few questions, statements and propositions. Please by all
means, correct me if I got something wrong.
1. besides filestore for shares and config files samba uses ldb as an
exclusive storage backend
1. LDB supports TDB, LDAP and SQLITE3 backend
2. Samba hard codes to TDB files like

kernel and initrd
I'm trying to create a single floppy based boot disk that will,
depending on what the user enters, boot redHat, SUSE or Debian.
Does anyone have any sample syslinux.cfg files that might allow me to
boot via nfs?
Also, I'm having trouble fitting init into initrd.img any ideas?
Thanks

menu.c32 is not a COM32R image
Hello !
I am completely new to syslinux.
I followed this instruction manually:
http://www.wonkity.com/~wblock/docs/html/pxe.html
I am on debian and do not have syslinux installed, but using
this debian box as a tftp server. I had to modify the instructions
given by the installation above. I downloaded the 6.02 version
and copied the files to the tftp root.
I am using dnsmasq as a tftp

Booting FreeBSD diskless in DomU
Using the 2.0.6 demo cd image, I booted the supplied freebsd image and rsync''d
the file system to an NFS server. However I don not seem to be able to
succesfully boot from it the system just hangs here:

I have modified /sbin/start_freebsd.sh and /etc/xen/freebsd.py to generate
the following configuration:
