Hi,
The bios is not able to boot from usb, but only from floppy. I want to boot an Ubuntu-installation from usb. The iso-file was moved with usb-creator to the usb-stick. I have got a boot-floppy, which starts an DamnSmallLinux usb-stick.
But this bootfloppy doesn't start the Ubuntu-usb-stick.
Which parameters in syslinux.cfg I must change to start Ubuntu-Linux?

In the installation docs for a Solaris Xen 07/07 DomU (http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/xen/docs/install-solaris-domu-iso.htm) the config file for the Solaris DomU is

Well I did it...
I dont know if this will be of any interest to you guys.
I have a lexar 1GB flash drive.
I used the mkdiskimage script and then did
syslinux as described in the readme.usbkey.
(the script took a REALLY long time too)
I booted into 3.7 knoppix. Copied all the directories
onto the key. Then copied the contents of the /boot dir into
the root dir. I renamed isolinux.cfg to syslinux.cfg

multiple comboot files?
Is there a way for isolinux/syslinux to execute a list of comboot files
immediately at startup, and only once?
I have a bunch of small comboot .com files that I want to batch run immediately,
then after that do a
DISPLAY boot.msg
similar in some ways to an autoexec.bat.
For example:
DEFAULT mycd
APPEND ramdisk_size=100000 init=/etc/init lang=us ....
TIMEOUT 300
ONSTARTUP mybatch <- ???

How to boot a compressed CD-ROM image from disk
I'd like to take advantage of the small, compressed Linux systems
such as Knoppix or BeatrIX, but I can't have a CD rom on my system.
(A project's marketing requirement.). So I figure I could use something
like SYSLINUX or ISOLINUX to do it for me, but there is some magic
in the process (the sequence of booting) that eludes me.

how-to: installing R on Knoppix
Installing R on Knoppix
Knoppix is a small LINUX distribution
(http://www.knoppix.net/) runnable from a CD (without
an installation) It can be also installed on a hard
drive from a single CD. The idea was to reuse an old
laptop with 6gb hard drive and 128mb memory.
I had few days experience with Linux and few years
experience with R. The latter was not required :-)
The Knoppix installation

I build my xen image by How To Guide - August 2006, and I have tested
the image on solaris dom0 and linux (Fedora Core 5) dom0. It work

works on live Knoppix, but not on Ubuntu / Kubuntu installs
I have an industrial app I'm trying to get working on wine.
It runs ok using with the Knoppix 6.4.4 live cd [using 1.0.1.] Does not work on Kubuntu or Ubuntu, with either wine 1.2 or after I downgraded to wine version to 1.0.1.
1) Any idea why?
2) Is there an "installed" distro that's very similar to Knoppix 6.4.4. ?
Thanks.

Another batch of helpins needed.
Hello, you guys have helped me before. I am setting up a multiboot system on
my usb stick. At one point, with syslinux, i had the two of the three
systems working. However in a sucessful attempt to get the third working, i
used that os'es instructions for usb installition, which included syslinux.
After which, that system worked, with its syslinux.cfg being located in a

Knoppix won't let me write to emergency drive
I appear to have lost the whole of my home directory on my centos
server (which includes all my mail saved from the last 7 years).
Although I have recent backups of most data I would like to copy
important files from /etc, and, if possible, /var/logs so that I can
try to find out what went wrong. However, knoppix refuses to let me
write to either my usb hdd or usb pendrive. Does anyone know how
