PXE 0.99h stacks... any chance?
Hi
I have searched the site, list archives, google etc and have not been
able to find an appropriate answer so I am asking it here. Apologies if
this has been answered already.
I have a kiosk-style pc which I wish to remote boot to keep it quiet.
This way I don't need a hard disk at all, keeping it truly silent as it
has a passive cpu cooler. Unfortunately, it has no upgrade options. I

pxelinux, pxe requesting bad filename from tftp
Hey,

pxelinux tries to load ldlinux.c32 from DHCP server, instead of next-server
Hello list,
We have a scenario where our TFTP server is not the same IP as our DHCP
server. While testing with 6.03, our setup works just fine.
However with the master branch, for some reason pxelinux.0 is fetched
from the TFTP servers IP, but then it tries to load ldlinux.c32 from the
DHCP servers IP.
I've tracked down this problem to the following commit:

Intel Boot Agent: PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout for correctly configured tftp-hpa
Hello. In my case I can successfully boot up my Thinkpad X32, but the
same configuration doesn't work for my desktop computer with Intel
network card, with Intel Boot Agent 2.2
DHCP server is 10.0.0.1, tftpd (used tftp-hpa) runs on 10.0.0.32.
netstat told me the daemon listen to 69 UDP port just fine. running tftp
in commandline also shows it works (retrieve pxelinux.0 less then 1
second).

pxelinux: first contact with tftp is bad
Hello !
I'm french, my english is bad :-(
I want to boot a computer by network which have a 3Com network card. So I use
isc-DHCP, TFTP-hpa and PXELinux.
The computer start, make a dhcp request, receive the configuration.
The next step is to contact the tftp server to get pxelinux.0 and the
configuration.
Stop me if I made an error ;)
So, in the network I want to use it, there is a dhcp

problems with tftp-hpa timing out.
I'm difficulty diagnosing a tftp-hpa problem. Specfically, when
performing a PXE boot, the machine hangs at the "TFTP...." and times out.
This is only occuring at one network location (we'll call it network A).
Now on network B, the computers on network can tftp boot no problem.
If I run a tftp client from my workstation to connect to the tftp-hpa
server on network A, I can

Hyper-V Gen 2 waiting for ldlinux.e64
Hi,
I am using a Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V Generation 2 VM as a PXE client (no physical machines available). This is a UEFI VM, and as per instructions I've read I have disabled secure boot on this VM for the installation of Linux. I am using the latest tftp-hpa package with the following config:
# /etc/default/tftpd-hpa
TFTP_USERNAME="tftp"

syslinux.efi [PXELINUX EFI 64 boot] not properly TFTP'ing ldlinux.e64
Gene and co,
Now my pxelinux efi 64 boot is properly loading syslinux.efi (via TFTP)
It then issues a TFTP file request for efi.x64/pxelinux.cfg/ldlinux.e64.
(All my efi x64 content is under efi.x64/pxelinux.cfg).
However, I see that it fails to properly negotiate the TFTP options with my
TFTP server. so it never transfers ldlinux.e64 over.
In its file request packet, it asks for these TFTP

tftp-hpa 0.28, 0.29 interoperability problem
Hi,
I have a tftp client which loads quite happily from a tftpd built
from netkit-tftp-0.16 but which fails to load from from a tftpd built
from tftp-hpa 0.29. In both cases, tftpd was built from pristine
sources and run from xinetd under Redhat 7.3.
[netkit-tftp-0.16 is the ancestor of tftp-hpa, predating HPA's
maintenance of same]
[the tftp client also..
.. fails with the prebuilt tftpd

Cisco 7960 Can't be unlocked
Odd problem here--I just got a couple of Cisco 7960s from Ebay that are not
functioning as expected......
These 7960s can't seem to be unlocked for manual configuration via any
mechanism that I can find. If you go to settings, there is no option 9
(unlock). Available options stop at 4 (Status). **# has no effect.
The Phones report that thier current firmware version is 3.1 MF.G2.

PXEboot: can't find configfile on tftpd server
Hello,
I've got several machines which I'm trying to netboot, the setup is a
bootserver using dhcpd3 and tftpd-hpa.
When a machine boots up, it gets an ip address and downloads pxelinux.0 from
the server, then it starts searching for pxelinux.cfg/[MACADDRESS]
pxelinux.cfg/0A0000F0 and so on. On the server side I see in the syslog the
client's DHCP-request and the client downloading

Allwell doesn't respond to OACK with ACK in TFTP
I'm trying to network-boot a GCT Allwell set-top box without success.
My frustration level is high.
The problem seems to be that the Allwell is sending a RRQ with an
option. tftp-hpa responds with an OACK, and waits for the corresponding
ACK from the Allwell. The Allwell never sends that ACK, but instead
continues with the same RRQ until timeout.
Having read RFC1782, this makes me think
