SYSLINUX 3.10-pre20 menu.32 hang in SIS900 bootrom
Hi, HPA:
Thanks for the nice new features, appreciate that. Syslinux is always a
nice program.
For the new version, 3.10-pre20, I encountered a problem now, my client
machine uses sis900 chip, and it still can not run simple menu with
pxelinux in this version (3.10-pre20).
It's same situation as I encountered when I used syslinux 3.07, 3.08 and
3.09.
For 3.10-pre20, I compiled in Fedora

PXE Bootdisk
Hello,
I hope that I am applying this question to the correct place, if not I do apologise!
I would like to create a boot floppy which mimics a PXE rom.
In this instance I would like to boot very old non PXE NIC workstations and install them from our Windows RIS.
Is it necessary that I create a some sort of full Linux boot cd to use for this purpose or is there a pre prepared boot disk already

OK! sorry thats my fault,
here the translations of the stata commands
1st step is to get the mean values of the variables, well that doesnt need explanation i guess,
2nd step is to estimate the model on panel data estimation method

question about the degrees of freedom
Dear R users,
I think i have a simple question which i want to explain by an example;
i have several 2-digit industry codes that i want to use for conducting by-industry analysis but i think there is a problem with the degrees of freedom!
for example, when i do my analysis without any 2-digit industry code, i got the following summary (i have 146574 observations in total):

equivalent of stata command in R
Dear all,
I need to use R for one estimation, and i have readily available stata command, but i need also the R version of the same command.
the estimation in stata is as following:
1. Compute mean values of relevant variables
. sum inno lnE lnM
Variable | Obs Mean Std. Dev. Min Max

silhouette fuzzy
After ordering the table of membership degrees , i must get the difference
between the first and second coloumns , between the first and second largest
membership degree of object i. This for K=2,K=3,....to K.max=6.
This difference is multiplyed by the Crisp silhouette index vector (si). Too
it dependending on K=2,...,K.max=6; the result divided by the sum of these
differences
I need a final

Thanx for your response,
yeah, i know i didnst specified the indexes
when i wrote the 2nd mail, in fact in the 1st mail i wrote already that
i dont have problem with the estimation of the model... thats the
reason why i didnt write in fact since the issue is not to estimate the
model but to get the marginal effect,
anyway, i figured out that predict(), doesnt work for panel data...

question about the degrees of freedom
Thank you for your advice, ill try to be more explicit now, i wasnt in the first mail because i thought it is a simple question to answer,
so; i have a panel data which contains 48858 observations during 3 year therefore, there are 146574 observations in total,
i have 22 different industries defined by 2-digit codes
such as 11, 13,14,16...40 therefore, ind_2d contains 22 2-digit codes

PXElinux and Windows RIS
I was trying to use my windows RIS server to deploy linux so as to require
user authentication. After seaching the internet I found that it was
possible but not very well explained after alot of tinkering I eventually
got it to work.
Here is my documentation so hopefully others can do it in less time than
I, feel free to comment and improve..

RIS UNDI
Hello,
I'm still trying to setup RIS (Remote Installation Service -w2k)
with PXE Linux, but before that I must say that the mail list
archive is a _good_ idea.
Back to RIS.
When I start from pxelinux
memdisk initrd=risbootdisk.img
I get an error:
No UNDI Driver found.
The risbootdisk.img is a bootdisk from Microsoft, which starts
a RIS installation.
When I boot from floppy it works fine,

pxelinux efi64 boot woes on hyper-v gen 2
Gene,
I found a document from IBM that explains why it didn't like Vendor-Class-Identifier option I was using "PXEClient" was causing EFI boot rooms to dummy spit, that's very useful, that combined with RTFMing the PXE specs 3.0-3.2 might solve my problem if I keep at it.

Samba 3 as PDC and a Windows 2000 Server for RIS
Hello,
I would like to install a Windows 2000 Server and configure it with RIS
(remote installation services).
The server is in a domain where a Samba 3 server, a machine with SuSE Linux
and Samba 3.0.20b-3.4-SUSE, plays the PDC role. The PDC works well.
When I try to configure RIS in the application wizard (appwiz.cpl) of that
Windows 2000 Server machine, it tells me that the setup for RIS

I used http://www.rom-o-matic.net/ to make the boot disk.
Cheers in advance

PXElinux and tftp path prefix
I want to chain multiple servers with pxelinux initiated from a ris server.
(Correct me if i'm wrong)
The Ris server sends a tftp-path-prefix location where the pxelinux.cfg is searched.
On the ris server I have entries like:
label server2
kernel 192.168.1.2::pxelinux.0
This fetches the pxelinux from server2 but the pxeconfig.cfg from server1 is used.
Can I overrule this with an

RIS and PXELINUX
Hi folks,
I'm finally tired of dealing with floppy disks to control our remote installs
and thought that PXELINUX sound like a great way to go. However, I've got
multiple hurdles and I'd like some advice before I get myself dug in too
deep... We currently have Solaris Jumpstart and Windows RIS running in the
department and now we would like to intermix Linux PXELINUX booting.

Using PXELINUX with Windows 2000 DHCP and TFTP
I noticed some links and suggestions on the SYSLINUX web site that
reference how to run TFTP on Windows 2000 Server. Two of them suggest
installing RIS, and one of them points to a third-party utility. I
don't need to install RIS, because I don't want to run Windows setup
over PXE. (In fact, I want to use PXELINUX to boot a DOS floppy and run
Symantec Ghost to deploy an image.) Also, I
