Pxelinux 2.09 limitations
Hi all, I've just found a small bug this morning. My pxelinux.cfg
contains 65 entries. The last one is never usable by pxelinux.0. It
sounds like the number of entries is managed on 6 bits :)
Is there a reason for that ? Is it possible to have a bugfix for that ?
Best regards,

MBA protection needed (quite off topic)
Hi all,
I'm new to this mailing list but I'm using this product since I'm in
charge of making a clustering distribution using PXE of course.
Yesterday night I was fighting with a problem of WakeOnLan (off topic).
Everything is working now but my PXE ROM (MBA on 3com products) should
be started for having the Wake On Lan feature working.
If a run a Linux, shut it down, thisWakeOnLan

PxeLinux and Itanium
Your PxeLinux is really a good product and contains really good features
(i.e memdisk).
But PxeLinux is a very low level program, contains assembly code and
seems to no be portable to Itanium architectures.
Does a version of PxeLinux planned for Itanium architecture ?
PS:On my configuration, option pxelinux.reboottime (code 211) you give
in your documentation removes my "default router"

Position of boot.cat
I've found with one of my collegue a strange "bug" when I'm using
isolinux. I know that we are using a modified isolinux 1.76 but I'd like
to know if some of you knows the reason of this.
We've found that if boot.cat is located at position 740 or 569 (isoinfo
-i) the cdrom is not detected are bootable on some drives whereas it
works on some others.

pxe + memdisk ..??
Hello ALL,
I've got a diskless server working (under Gentoo), booting on it works. (a linux session start with no problem.)
My Big problem, is to get Memdisk to boot with PXE. In fact memdisk is loaded, but it cannot find the img file. I've tried a lot of thing, but nothing works...
tftp use : /diskless
the config file for PXE in then in : /diskless/pxelinux.cfg/

How do I build an initrd.img for use with pxelinux
Hi,
I have built a Red Hat 7.2 system kernel 2.4.7-10 using pxelinux from
syslinux-2.09
I have then installed the latest Broadcom BCM5700 Linux Driver Version
7.1.22 as per the README.TXT:-
rpm -ivh bcm5700-7.1.22-1.src.rpm
cd /usr/src/redhat
rpm -bb SPECS/bcm5700.spec
rpm -ivh --force RPMS/i386/bcm5700-7.1.22-1.i386.rpm
The system reboots fine and is using the new driver
I now want to update my

pxe weirdness
I know that this is not a pxelinux/syslinux question (yet), but I am
having a weird issue with a HP ML370.
It is using HP UNDI PXE 2.1 (build 082) v 3.1.15
I successfully get an IP address from my DHCP server, but the machine
fails when it attempts to make it's TFTP connection with:
"PXE-E32 - TFTP Open timeout"
It never gets the pxelinux.0 file.
The odd thing I noticed was

Windows Remote Install
I saw a section entitled "PXELINUX and the Windows Remote Install
Server", but there was nothing below it.
I'm trying to figure out how to do this. Any advise would be appreciated.
Do you suggest PXE, Etherboot, or Netboot? Could someone explain
the difference?
I still haven't figured out how all this fits together yet.
Thanks.

without MAC addr in dhcpd.conf will not get IP addr
Hi, I successfully boot up diskless client to DOS. In
my dhcpd.conf, I have specified the MAC address of
each network card like :
host client1 {
hardware ethernet xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx;
}
When I removed the host client {...}, my client will
not get the DHCP address. I do not wish to key in
thousands of MAC address in the dhcpd.conf when I
implement this. Any help? Thanks.

Win98SE to Samba 2.0.10 Problems
Thanks for the answers so far but I haven't been able to come up with an
solution yet :(
Some new info (see bottom of email for history):
1. I upgraded to 2.0.10 on my Mandrake 8.0, no change to the transfer
problem.
2. I attempted to ftp a file from the Win 98SE PC to my Samba Server,
didn't work. So I can assume that it is not specifically Samba problem.
3. I have changed the NIC cards

Booting from a USB flash memory stick.
Hi,
This might be a bit off topic, but I hope people can help anyway.
I have a USB 256Mb Memory stick.
I have created an ext2 partition on it, and have saved files to it.
I have stored a kernel image on it, together with an /etc/lilo.conf file.
When I run lilo, if writes lilo to the boot sector of the flash disk.
When I try to boot into linux using the USB Memory stick, I get a single
