PXELinux Kernel NFS Root Errors
Hi This is a PXELinux problem that I'm facing. The problem, in brief, is that I have a set of diskless nodes (AMD Athlon XP 1800+ with 256MB RAM) connected via an internal 172.20.0.0/24 network to a dual AMD Opteron running SuSE Linux 8.3 for AMD64. I want the remote machines to diskless boot off the main server and run independently. The diskless machines have a PXE-compliant BIOS for

newbie question: pxelinux.cfg/default question
Hello all, I understand that during PXE boot, it goes into the pxelinux.cfg and it states: 1. "it will search for the config file using its own IP address in upper case hexadecimal, e.g. 192.0.2.91 -> C000025B (you can use the included progam "gethostip" to compute the hexadecimal IP address for any host.) If that file is not found, it will remove one hex digit and try

Gene, great documentation on PXELINUX-Multi-Arch
Gene, First off, great documentation on http://www.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php/PXELINUX-Multi-Arch You clearly lay out the various techniques. Just last week, I presented a pxelinux talk to our local Linux meet-up group. (I've given this talk before.) http://2014.texaslinuxfest.org/content/creating-legacy-efi-pxe-server-using-pxelinux.html Apparently, I'm using the "distinct

RH8.0 kernel lockup with PXELinux on x440
Howdy. We've got a couple IBM x440 (Summit) 8-way Xeon systems that I've been trying to get netbooting for a while. Since we use Kickstart and SystemImager to load OSes on our systems, a system has to be able to netboot before it can be made available to folks for project use. System BIOS is the current one, v1.08. They're booting from a planar BroadCom Tigon3 adapter. BIOS

I copied the following files out of the archive into my /tftpboot folder: syslinux-5.00-pre6/core/pxelinux.0 syslinux-5.00-pre6/com32/menu/menu.c32 syslinux-5.00-pre6/memdisk/memdisk With only this files, it was not working and I also had to copy this two

Problem with pxelinux 5.0 and memtest
Hello, This is my first post to this list. After searching through the archives and google searches I could not find a solution for my memtest problem. In previous versions of pxelinux/gpxelinux (4.04 and 4.06) I could successfully start the memtest utility. But using pxelinux/gpxelinux versions 5.01 and 5.02 the memtest utility does not boot and I get an error message: boot: Loading

run pxelinux.0 on a booted system
I am trying to come up with a 'clever' way to pxe-boot boxes that don't have any way to pxe boot. as in, old laptops that only have pc-mica nics. "Etherboot does not (yet) offer support for PCMCIA cards." http://www.etherboot.org/wiki/pcmcia_support I am not trying to do 'that' - just trying to come up with a process to work around it. Something like this:

pxelinux - how to direct client to find source files for pxe loading
I've got a Fedora 13 box that I am using as a pxe server to pxe load client machines. Using dhcp, tftp, and http I have been able to succesfully pxe load clients. However I am now trying to serve up multiple images via a menu, and not having any luck in configuring my pxelinux.cfg/default file to direct clients to the appropriate source repositories. I do have the pxelinux.cfg/default file

Problems with PXELINUX and Redhat 9.0
I'm trying to boot the Redhat 9.0 install kernel with PXELINUX. I've successfully booted previous versions of the Redhat install kernel using the same hardware and PXELINUX configuration. I've tried this with PXELINUX 2.04, 2.03, and 1.75, all with similar results. I have attached the PXELINUX output and (hopefully) relevant data below. I've noticed some other people on this

WDS and PXELinux
Dear All, First posting here... I am trying to integrate a PXELinux boot into my native-mode WDS server. I have found that making WDS boot the PXELinux is easy (see below), it is making PXELinux give control back to WDS that I have not cracked yet. -In your WDS server, copy the contents of your tftpboot folder to the Boot\x86 folder in your RemoteInstall one. -Open the Windows Deployment

PXELINUX 6.03 / vesamenu.c32 hang
I've just tried 4.07 and that has the same results. I should note that I appear to be in error about things working OK with menu.c32 as opposed to vesamenu.c32 - I do indeed see the menu (which with vesamenu.c32 it does not get that far), but when I attempt to choose the Windows Deployment Services option, it hangs. Thanks, Dan Jackson (Lead ITServices Technician). -----Original

pxelinux problems
Hi, I'm seeing a strange problem when using pxelinux - it loads OK initially and finds pxelinux.cfg/default, but then hangs. Looking in the server's /var/log/messages, I find this: Mar 18 14:01:38 fal000phys02 tftpd[24310]: tftp: client does not accept options Mar 18 14:01:38 fal000phys02 xinetd[6441]: tftp service was deactivated because of looping If I reload xinetd twice, tftpd
