Building Xen from source
I''m a Xen newbie, still trying to get oriented. I''m especially interested in building from sources, and I''m looking for some clarifications. Does anyone here build from sources, or should I perhaps subscribe to the developer''s list? At the moment, I''m mainly interested in just being a Xen user because I need to get up to speed here before even

Building Xen: failure to launch
Hi everyone. I''m a Xen newbie and I''m trying to get oriented here in the xeniverse. (Can I say that here?) My eventual goal is to set up multiple virtual xen servers in a minimum number of physical "boxes". My only knowledge of Xen so far is my careful reading of the famous paper "Xen - the Art of Virtualization". So I went to the web and searched Xen

'winbind use default domain' doesn't appear to work with ntlm_auth
Hi everyone, We just upgraded Samba from 4.4.5 to 4.6.5 and appear to be experiencing a problem with authentication, when the RPC domain is not supplied as part of the username. I have two scenarios where this has cropped up: RADIUS authentication using ntlm_auth Apache HTTP using mod_auth_ntlm_winbind RADIUS authentication: We use the freeRADIUS 'mschap' module to provide

I''m doing raid10 on both data and metadata, and: hrm@vlad:mnt $ sudo btrfs fi df /mnt Data: total=488.01GB, used=487.23GB Metadata: total=3.01GB, used=677.73MB System: total=11.88MB, used=52.00KB hrm@vlad:mnt $ find /mnt | wc -l 20137 By my calculations, that''s something on the order of 17.5K per filesystem

no menu.c32, no problem...
Fellow syslinux fans, I'm using syslinux on a boot floppy (I'll call this syslinux A) to invoke an etherboot image (zlilo style) which invokes a tagged NBI image from my DHCP/TFTP server. The tagged NBI image is created using mknbi-dos and also uses syslinux (I'll call this syslinux B), a linux kernel and an initrd file. It works perfectly if syslinux A has a basic .CFG, e.g.:

Samba + Quickbooks file problems
I updated samba to samba-2.0.7-4 (RedHat RPM). That didn't help. I changed the file ownership to user.group from user.user. That didn't help. I changed the file permissions to -rwxrwxr-- as you had suggested, and then it worked. (QuickBooks 99 needs *both* the file permissions set as noted *and* the ownership also.) However, when everyone closes QuickBooks the QBI file is deleted, and

Syslinux / Hard drive booting
Hello, We have been using syslinux to boot machines successfully for quite a while. However, we now have a model of machine that just doesnt seem to work. We are currently using syslinux/pxelinux 2.05 but have tried 2.03 as well Here is the procedure we normally use. This is typically fully unattended. We boot a small linux distro using pxelinux. Then we copy in mbr.bin from the syslinux

Building a bootable floppy image > 1.44MB
Hi there! After reading the last posting about creating a boot disk as non-root, I have a question of my own: Does anyone know a way to produce a floppy/harddisk image able to boot a DOS environment (without using windows, vmware or other tools of that kind)? Is it perhaps even possible to create larger disk images (>2.88MB)? It's no problem to get an image with a DOS filesystem, but

backup_list_request
Hi, I am still bit of a novice to SAMBA. However, I feel that I have it up and running well except for the following error: [2000/02/03 22:32:48, 0] nmbd/nmbd_incomingdgrams.c:(703) process_get_backup_list_request: Invalid name type 0 - should be 0x1b or 0x1d. Has any one seen this error before? What does it mean and how might it be fixed? Thanks for your help in advance!! John
