feedback/help request
Hi, First, let me thank you for the excellent documentation and programming work on Syslinux. It has made getting to this point infinitely easier. Unfortunately, I need to request some guidance in troubleshooting a problem I am having using the RedHat installer on their version 7.3, which uses Syslinux as the boot mechanism. A little background: I have an old Micron Powerdigm XsU dual PII

MTFTP support in PXElinux??
Hiya, Just joined the list and started using pxelinux. Very cool product!!! I searched the, 8+ MB, archives looking for multicast entries. I know that the pxelinux page says that the support of mtftp in pxelinux isn't in the works but I'm not sure how old/relavant that comment is. I have noticied some comments from H.P.A. describing the difficulties in doing MTFTP. Are there any plans to

"pre-OS"
Ok, syslinux is what it is, and I love the way it just works. I looked up linuxBios and found what I was looking for. A project in 2000 called "LOBOS (Linux OS Boots Linux OS): Booting a Kernel in 32-bit Mode? It looks like this would do what I need, but I can't find any working code. I like the Idea of booting a simple fail safe system and restarting a production kernel. Yes,

Large Floppy Images
I have periodically been trying to get memdisk to boot images larger than your average 1.44Mb floppy and have always been unsuccessful. I cannot boot anything greater than 1.44Mb. The systems I'm attempting to do this with are not too old but they are not recent either. One is a Asus P5A and the other is a Intel SE440BX both with the most recent bios firmware patches available applied. If

Booting from Harddisk
Hi, I've made several attempts to boot syslinux from the harddisk. I have a win 98 startdiskette with syslinux and copybs. I strictly follow the procedure in the syslinux documentation. Yet, the result of the boot is not that linux is starting. Instead, the Microsoft windows screen flashes for a couple of seconds and is then replaced by a Dos prompt. Syslinux is V2.04. The PC is an IBM Aptiva

Hello, How do I import data from Excel onto R? I am using S-Plus Envstat module. I need to use some of the data that already exist in the Envstat and put it into R to make graphs, find basic informations like mean, median, standard deviation, etc. I have been reading the help links, but I don't see anything in reference to this. Please help me! -Maher Lina

Poor performance on NFS-exported ZFS volumes
I''m seeing some pretty pitiful performance using ZFS on a NFS server, with a ZFS volume exported (only with rw=host.foo.com,root=host.foo.com opts) and mounted on a Linux host running kernel 2.4.31. This linux kernel I''m working with is limited in that I can only do NFSv2 mounts... irregardless of that aspect, I''m sure something''s amiss. I mounted the zfs-based

Problems with Default user profiles.
All, I currently have a problem where the default user profile is not being picked up - Windows simply ingores it and creates one based on local settings. I understand samba supports default user profiles, and one can be put into the profiles share like this: /export/profiles/Default User/ This directory contains a copy of a working profile from a proper user. The relevant smb.conf sections

IMQ: why do I need IMQ ?
Hello there, Can someone please explain why do one neeed IMQ ? I can already shape incoming traffic on my nat router by creating qdiscs on LAN-side interface. I have done some tests, whith simple bandwidth limmiting, and it works. I''ve read just about all the stuff on www.linuximq.net ... but couldn''t make myself an ideea on why would someone need IMQ for ingress policing ...
