ISOLINUX fails at boot on Award BIOS v6.00PG
Hello, I don't know if it's ISOLINUX or a broken BIOS, this is the first time ever seeing this error. "Extremely broken BIOS" on a EPIA -M10 BIOS Rev 2.07 (latest ver available) EDEN VIA mini-ITX mobo. ISOLINUX on RH8 ver 1.75, RH9 ver 2.00 and Yarrow ver 2.06 all produce the same type of error. RH 7.3 and Lindows boot and build without any problem but I don't think they

ISOLINUX fails at boot on Award BIOS v6.00PG
For future reference check the archives of http://syslinux.zytor.com for the thread:"isolinux: Extremely broken BIOS Detected" and you will see that a BIOS upgrade was 'not' necessary for a Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG. The fix was the BIOS settings and elimination of both memory address and IRQ conflicts. You really don't want to go to the 'upgrade BIOS' option

ISOLINUX & AWARD 6.00PG BIOS
Hi Peter, thanks for SYSLINUX/ISOLINUX/PXELINUX! Some comments regarding ISOLINUX and the AWARD 6.00PG BIOS: If a CD drive and at least one HD drive is present in the machine, everything works fine :-) IF a CD drive is the _only_ drive of the PC isolinux (and any other program that uses no-emul-boot) will fail :-(( CD floppy-emul-boot or harddisk-emul-boot will work. IF a CD drive is the

Award BIOS fault
Hello. I found bug probably comes from BIOS fault. It does not boot from CDROM if the PC has only CDROM drive but no HDD. I mean, it can boot from CDROM if the PC has HDD but not boot if no HDD. I think BIOS returns wrong info. But I appriciate if there comes workaround. BTW, I got another problem -- I can not compile syslinux 3.07. What version of nasm you use? --- Okajima, Jun.

Dialplan not reading MySQL table
Hello, I'm trying to use MySQL for Dialplans and have followed the Asterisk RealTime Extensions setup. The MySQL table is called "extensions" and I have entered two records.. ext 1000 and 2000. I also added switch => Realtime/default@extentions in extensions.conf and extensions => mysql, asterisk, extensions in extconfig.conf I do a *CLI> dialplan reload but when I show

problems booting isolinux
Hello List, I have used isolinux for years without problems. Recently I decided to upgrade from 3.09 to 3.11. Every CD I create can be read on my Vectra (Pentium 3) and all other Pentium 3 boxes, but all my Pentium 4 boxes will not boot (they ignore the CD and boot from hard disk). The bochs VM will boot the CDs fine just like the Pentium 3 machines. I have tried 3.09 (which worked

isolinux boot issue...
I'm creating a Linux "live" CD that boots just fine on our newer machines... but isolinux is not working on some of our older ones. The older boxes work fine with boot floppy image systems like Knoppix... so I'm wondering if there's something more I can do to make them happier with isolinux? By "older", I mean a generic P-120 motherboard with an Award v4.50PG

Buggy bios, boot of dos image hangs with syslinux, but not with isolinux
Hi We have a couple of FSC Computers here which seem to have a very strange bios. I am trying to boot a MS-DOS disk to flash an Scsi Raid controller. Since the computer doesn't have a floppy anymore I tried syslinux from an usb stick. The menu loads fine but I cannot boot disc images with memdisk on this computer. It works fine on others, of course. But now comes the weird part, if I use the

ISOLINUX: Boot problems
Hi, I'm trying to setup a Linux CD on mashine that will have nothing but a CDROM. Everything worked fine until I removed the HDD. From this moment on the CD doesn;t boot. I upgraded to Syslinux 2.0 but with no luck. The error message I got almost says it all: "Extremely broken BIOS", but can I ask for help if there some ideas how to fix this, cause if I put the HDD back the CD boots

Recent Isolinux fails to boot Via C3 Samuel 2
Hi Peter, I've trawled through some of the archives about the BIOS of my PC but I don't think this is the answer. I have a VIA C3 S2 motherboard (it's a VIA CL). The BIOS is version 1.23 which is the latest for for this mb. kubuntu 7.04 boots OK, as have all previous versions of kubuntu. kubuntu 7.10 doesn't boot, neither does suse 10.3 or Fedora 8. All of of them get hung up

isolinux 2.0+ won't boot from DVD
I am trying to rebuild Red Hat Linux 9 on DVD. I am using the provided isolinux 2.00 (I tried the latest 2.04, with the same results), and I get an error trying to boot from the DVD. I burned the boot.iso (basically a triple-wide boot disk using the same isolinux directory) to DVD, and it booted fine. The error I get when booting the DVD using isolinux-debug.bin is this (copied by hand):
