Excess Bandwidth
Hi,
I''m trying to configure QoS on my linux in the following manner:
I have a main link with 64K, so I divided it in 3 classes of 18K, 14K
and 9K with an excess (not used for classified traffic, just to be
shared) of 23K. This excess should be distributed proportonally among
the 3 classes, that is, the class that has more rate should borrow more
bandwidth. What is happening is

centos on 64M 350Mhz pentimum II
All,
I have an old computer 64M 350Mhz pentium II.
centos os 4.1 installs on it fine. however on boot
it says low memory and it kills certain processes. httpd or sendmail.
I have a 2GIG swap and I did a chkconfig XXX off on a few things
like xfs, nfs, httpd, kudzu.
My old 2.4 kernel used to run in 4M with a swap...
I had recompiled the kernel (took a while) to enable the cyclades module.

RE: FS: Cyclades PC300/TE2 Dual T1 Interface PCI Card For LinuxPC!
I hope this isn''t too far off topic. I did a little bit of pricing
homework a few months ago on new T1 cards. The idea was to build a
Linux based router/firewall. After all, Ethernet NICs are easily
available for less than $10 today. But all the T1 cards I found cost a
fortune. And about a year ago, I learned the list price for a complete
Adtran Netvanta 3200 router with T1 card is

FS: Cyclades PC300/TE2 Dual T1 Interface PCI Card For Linux PC!
Hi. I have a Cyclades PC300/TE2 card that turns a Linux PC into a Dual
T1 interface router. It is well made and high performance. I used it for
a few years. It includes two T1 cables. Cyclades has gotten out of this
business but the Linux kernel developer community supports this card so
no additional driver is needed.
It cost me $700+. I would like to sell it for about $300.
Put this in a PC

TensorFlow in R
Hi All,
I didn't have much success through my Google search in finding any active
R-related projects to create a wrapper around TensorFlow in R. Anyone know
if this is on the go?
Thanks,
Axel.

cyclades driver on centos 4.1
I have a 5 year old machine that had a working cyclades8ys (8 port ISA
rs232) card.
I installed centos 4.1 on the box. I installed the kernel source and
rebuilt the
the kernel, did menuconfig and seelcted the cyclades module.
Did the modprode cyclades and got some driver information echoed to
the screen but it did not detect the card.
Does udev have anything to do with this?
Does any one have

Partial authentication
Hello,
I would like to bring up the topic of possibly including partial
authentication functionality into OpneSSH again - it was discussed a few
weeks ago. I believe that implementing auth vectors was suggested as a way
to achieve this.
The reasoning behind the need for partial auth is that there are cases when
multiple methods of authentication are required for the user to be
successfully

building hpa tftp under cygwin?
First-
I'm admittedly a newbie both to the cygwin environment and to the hpa tftp.
My apologies if this is the wrong list to ask this question. If so, slap me
around a little....
I tried to build tftp-hpa under cygwin. The 0.37 version throws errors
during the ./configure process, warning about winsock2.h and winsock.h being
present but not buildable.
The 0.36 version appears to

The Smallest Asterisk Server Ever?
Hello all,
Saturday night, after a couple of shots of bourbon, I realized
that I had an old PC sitting in the garage that I could use as an Asterisk
gateway if I just blew the dust off it and reloaded it with a modern Linux
distribution. In my characteristically impulsive manner, I grabbed it and
started cleaning it up so that I could put it in my office without my wife
having a fit.

CentOS serial questions (Hyperterminal equiv and connecting to server via Hyperterminal)
I have two serial-related questions
(1) What is the CentOS (or *nix) equivalent of Hyperterminal in Windows?
Sometimes I'm on a CentOS box and need to, say, console into a Cisco or
something.
and
(2) I have a CentOS server that I may need to transport somewhere and will
most likely *not* want to carry around the monitor. Where should I look in
connecting to my server via a serial

I was playing the German version of StarCraft under Debian sid with wine

playing for a while without problems (sound was ok), wine said

tftpd-hpa suggestions
Hello, Peter and others!
there are some issues regarding the tftp-hpa server:
1. Running as Windows service seems to require that the application does
not detach (otherwise "net start" says smth. like "could not start,
the service didn't report any errors").
The attached patch adds the option "-n", which can be used to have
tftpd run in foreground.

denial of service attack on login
Hi,
I''ve been writing a login application to utilize the features of both PAM
and libpwdb. Not surprisingly, this has meant looking at some old code..
The following denial of service attack seems to work quite nicely on my
ancient Red Hat 3.0.3 system with the standard login application. Perhaps
this is not a problem with 4.0? Does anyone know about other distributions?

multiple default in /pxelinux.cfg
Dear Sir,
I am using PXES for booting diskless computer to win2k, and/or LTSP
servers.
The problem is we have many computers in our lab have different
computers, so i require different .initrd files for each group of
computers.
Can i have different /pxelinux.cfg/default files so that i can define
different locations for my boot files.
Thanks in advance.

Special dhcp options and PXElinux
Hi
I am trying to enable my dhcpd and pxelinux setup to use a specific
config file for a booting client. I have read the pxelinux page for
this (http://syslinux.zytor.com/pxe.php#special) but still seem to be
encountering problems.
When running the dhcpd with the '-d' debug option the daemon sees the
DHCPDISCOVER from the client and then core dumps. On the client side
the DHCPDISCOVER
