MTFTP support in PXElinux??
Hiya,
Just joined the list and started using pxelinux. Very cool product!!! I searched
the, 8+ MB, archives looking for multicast entries. I know that the pxelinux
page says that the support of mtftp in pxelinux isn't in the works but I'm not
sure how old/relavant that comment is. I have noticied some comments from H.P.A.
describing the difficulties in doing MTFTP.
Are there any plans to

syslinux.efi [PXELINUX EFI 64 boot] not properly TFTP'ing ldlinux.e64
Gene and co,
Now my pxelinux efi 64 boot is properly loading syslinux.efi (via TFTP)
It then issues a TFTP file request for efi.x64/pxelinux.cfg/ldlinux.e64.
(All my efi x64 content is under efi.x64/pxelinux.cfg).
However, I see that it fails to properly negotiate the TFTP options with my
TFTP server. so it never transfers ldlinux.e64 over.
In its file request packet, it asks for these TFTP

I saw it in IRC.

pxelinux efi64 boot woes on hyper-v gen 2
Ady: You seem to be taking (copy$paste) parts and pieces from different resources.
Luke: Nope. The configuration works fine with PXE 2.01 clients, it's the UEFI PXE 3.2 that is having issues with the dhcp requests. The gospel is the Intel PXE 3 spec I'm RTFMing now. No copy and paste, I just started with someone elses configuration file that claims to support UEFI - or at least hopes to

pxelinux efi64 boot woes on hyper-v gen 2
Gene,
As it happened I started working on this again just as you mailed me.
It appears that PXE-E99 may also be related to MTFTP part of the PXE spec. IBM also says it has something to do with jumbo frames. I tried setting PXE.mtcp-ip to 0.0.0.0 to disable it but still no joy.
The bootfile size shows up as zero because that relates to "option boot-size" in dhcp and doesn't seem to

pxelinux never OACKs tftp server response
After the PXE PROM code downloads and runs the pxelinux.0 image and it
tries to download config information the client stops acknowledging the
server OACK packets from the server.

The tftp client in pxelinux.0 sends a tftp file read request with extended

Remap not enabled on some builds...
Hi-
Here at Columbia Unix Systems Group we experienced difficulty getting
tftpd-hpa to build on certain systems (including Debian Woody), and
after investigation, my officemate Lev discovered that it is a problem
with the autoconf script, not the source code for the
application itself. Perhaps others will be helped by this info...
Good luck!

PXELINUX - TFTP Problems - Option Negotiation Failures
I apologize if this is the wrong place to be asking this, but I'm pretty much out of options on where to go. I'm using the pxelinux version of tftp. Everything has worked well up to this point, however I've been trying to impliment a pxe bartpe solution in our office. Unfortunatly tftp is not passing the files correctly to the client.
Here's the rundown.

Intel Boot Agent: PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout for correctly configured tftp-hpa
Hello. In my case I can successfully boot up my Thinkpad X32, but the
same configuration doesn't work for my desktop computer with Intel
network card, with Intel Boot Agent 2.2
DHCP server is 10.0.0.1, tftpd (used tftp-hpa) runs on 10.0.0.32.
netstat told me the daemon listen to 69 UDP port just fine. running tftp
in commandline also shows it works (retrieve pxelinux.0 less then 1
second).

disable tsize option
this may be a strange question but...
i want to do some testing of tftp with and without tsize option. is
there a way to start in.tftpd without enabling the tsize option? or will
i have to install new tftp server that does not support tsize option?
perhaps this? /usr/sbin/in.tftpd -r tsize

pxelinux implementation questions
Hi,
I've been looking at the pxelinux code and I was wondering a couple of
things:
1) Why does pxelinux create UDP packets from scratch instead of use the
Intel PXE TFTP OPEN/CLOSE/READ calls? I'm assuming this is to support
TFTP options like tsize right? Did earlier versions of pxelinux use the
TFTP calls directly?
2) How big of an image can pxelinux download (minus memory

Chain-loading from WDS to PXELinux on a different tftp server
Hey guys,
We are going with WDS to fire up first to get the benefits of targeted M$ deployments. If you have the "handle unknown computers" off on your M$ Distribution point, then you can still use regular WDS which runs next as a PXE filter (DLL linked into WDS) to fire off anything you want to including PXELinux.
The stuff I was talking about before with PXELinux not working in

PXE-E55 ProxyDHCP - No reply to request on port 4011
Hi:
First - pxelinux works great - got it up and running
with few problems.
However - I ran into a snag, I am assuming I have
a configuration issue. Here are the details.
Using: syslinux-1.75
dhcp-3.0pl1
tftp-hpa-0.29
A lot of what I have done is from:

PXElinux boot sequence with multiple ethernets
Hello,
I am attempting a PXE boot between two systems, each with multiple
network cards. While there are a total of 8 ports on each computer,
only two (each) are connected as follows:
Boot Server
eth0 - 10GbE fiber channel (private to the set of computers being
managed) (Qlogic)
eth4 - 1Gb ethernet (public and out of my sphere of management)
(NetExtreme II)

pxelinux.cfg/default
Can someone tell me what is supposed to go into pxelinux.cfg/default ?
I get the intial transfer of pxelinux.0 to the client and I'm not really
sure what is supposed to happen next..
I get an error msg about TFTP server does not support the tsize option,
but that may be simply because the corret file isn't there to be
transferred.
Can I download the correct file from anywhere?

PXE booting UEFI
Good Afternoon,
As per the installation guide, section 30.2.2 I?ve created an efidefault file at /var/lib/tftpboot/pxelinux/pxelinux.cfg/efidefault
However, this file is never requested by the 64 bit PXE loader (bootx64.efi), as shown by tcpdump:
