File locks?
Hello,
Recently, the following problem started happening with a particular samba
server:
If i have a file open for reading (say, a pdf in xpdf) and then try to write
to it (say, through recompiling a latex document) it complains that it
cannot open the file for writing.
this seems like a file lock issue but I am unsure where it is happening. My
previous usage should be perfectly safe since

Fedora Core 3). GCC version 3.4.2.
I built llvm-2.0 (the svn version) by just typing "./configure;make". I
then downloaded clang from the svn repository (revision 40382) and changed

4.4 update quits unexpectedly
After 2 good updates to 4.4, my 3rd is giving me trouble. I did all 3
installs the same:
yum clean all
yum update python-sqlite sqlite yum
yum clean all
yum upgrade
This one, however, quits during the header download. I get "[Errno -1]
Header not complete, trying another mirror", then "[Errno 256] No more
mirrors to try".
I am not going thru a proxy, and I can't find

RECALL: Lithium batteries for Polycom Soundstation 2W
Just released by the CPSC on their recalls mailing list; please
forward to any venues where you feel operators or resellers of the
SoundStation might be, with this preface included.
My 2W had a battery with the part code 1520-07804-002; its date code
was GP0806, and therefore predates the recall period.
Cheers,

RIS and PXELINUX
Hi folks,
I'm finally tired of dealing with floppy disks to control our remote installs
and thought that PXELINUX sound like a great way to go. However, I've got
multiple hurdles and I'd like some advice before I get myself dug in too
deep... We currently have Solaris Jumpstart and Windows RIS running in the
department and now we would like to intermix Linux PXELINUX booting.

[PATCH 1/3] Only peek and discard packets from specified device.
This patch fixes a bug on systems with multiple connected network devices.
As packet_peek uses all devices to receive data instead of a specific
device. As the return value was never reset it was possible that packets
from other devices were returned by packet_peek. That means that the
ifindex did not match any ifindex of the specified devices the packet was
never removed and packets for the

pxelinux.0 on pSeries
Hi,
I am new to this list, but would greatly appreciate any help on the topic.
We are trying to automate the build/installation of a pSeries machine
using kickstart server. We have a process in place that completes a
system build of xSeries machines. It uses pxelinux.0 to direct the
bootp to the kernel, ramdisk and kickstart.config file. I was trying
to use the same process to build the pSeries

RedHat kickstart with PXELINUX
We are attempting to setup an automated system to build some Linux
systems. We have utilised the PXELINUX bootloader after encountering
the PXE 512Kb limit with bootp.
We now have another issue which you may have already run into. In the
DHCP configuration we specify pxelinux.0 as the bootfile, this works
reasonable well, we call the Redhat vmlinuz and initrd.img files

If you want your code to be compatible with
S+, then 'seq_len' isn't going to work.

intel etherexpress pro 100 nics at my lan, server with tftp, nfsserver

Hi,
When I use a kernel v.2.4.20 the pxe boot loads the pxefiles, kernel and
then stops asking for files from the server and complains about a
"Root-NFS: No NFS server available, giving up." and messages about to
insert a disk...

text() with invalid argument type crashes RGui.exe
Dear Rexperts:
(R 2.0.1 on Windows XP Pro)
Is the following problem unique to my setup?
If it's a known problem, I didn't see it at
http://bugs.r-project.org/ nor find discussion in the archives.
plot(1:10)
loc <- c(5, 6)
text(loc, labels = "a")
Produces expected results according to ?xy.coords.
