tftpd server
Hi
In the pxelinux page, is referred that the tftpd server from
http://tftpd32.jounin.net as working with pxelinux.
However, from the tests I've made, it seems that the 'tsize' option is not
supported.
Anyone has knowledge of a working TFTPD server that runs on Windows NT4?
p.s. it can be shareware, I just want to test it with NT4, I have had
success with the 'builtin'

Growing out of floppy images, what's the best alternative?
Hi.
We've been using PXELINUX for years, to kick off OS installations
(floppy images) and booting assorted tools. The addition of ISO support
in memdisk opened up some new alternatives that we also use, e.g.
booting WinPE ISO images over PXE.
Today I downloaded a BIOS for a HP EliteBook 8440p and discovered that
the BIOS file is 3 MB. I could probably squeeze it onto a 2.88 MB floppy

smbclient -M/session request failed
Hi Folks!
I try to send a popup via "smbclient -M" from a sun (SunOS 5.8, Samba
2.0.7, hostname "sonne") to a WinXP (hostname "dezntmneubeck_x") but it
fails. Both machines are in the same physical network. All I get are the
following lines:
root@sonne(1017)/> smbclient -s /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf -M dezntmneubeck_x
added interface ip=193.102.105.71

thank you for your answer

Using memdisk to remotely flash BIOS
I am using memdisk to remotely flash the BIOS and other firmware. It works well
for most flash programs. After the flash I need to initialize the NIC to send a
signal to my management server that the flash is complete.
I am curious as to how others have solved this problem.
Thanks.

Integrate 3com boot image files?
Hello Peter,
do you know a way to integrate existing submenu's created by the 3com boot
image editor into pxelinux? I know it is possible to build the menu's in
pxelinux and use memdisk for imagefiles, but it will mean to recreate
about 70 menu's and 350-400 image files.
Yours sincerely

KEEPPXE/DOS
First off I love syslinux and it has worked flawless for us on the unix side of the realm.
We're trying to use our ghost images within a dos netboot using syslinux. Unfortunatly we can only pass DHCP ip's to hosts that exhibit a vendor code 'like windows/pxe/and other os's do". Unfortunatly DOS does not, so we cannot request a second IP after the pxe process to map samba

running R-code outside of R
R 2.7.0, WinXP
Hi list,
I have written some code in R that I would like to share with others who
are not R-users. Is there a way to compile the code so it will run
outside of R?
The best thing would be a functionality to compile the code into a ".exe"
file that does not require the user to have R installed or to know how to
use R. The persons I would like to make the program available

continuous coloring of a polygon
R2.7.1, WinXP
Hi,
I have a polygon inside a circle as follows:

x <- seq(-radius,radius,length=2000)
y <- sqrt(radius^2-x^2)
xx <- c(x,-x)
yy <- c(y,-y)
plot(xx,yy, xlim=c(-radius,radius),ylim=c(-radius,radius), type="l",
ylab="", xlab="", axes=F)
radius <- 2.7
x1 <- seq(-radius,radius,length=2000)
y1 <- sqrt(radius^2-x1^2)

R interprets symbol as q()
R2.7.1, WinXP
Hi,
My question is probably easy to answer, but I can't seem to solve it myself.
I need to read in a large number of datasets that were generated by
another (old) software program. Each data file contains a bunch of
additional code generated by the external software. It lists the data
per respondent. So first the data for respondent 1, then the data for
respondent 2, et

(no subject)
Hi,
I?m trying to use Samba 3.0 with OpenLDAP as a PDC.
Joining the Domain with a NT4 WS works fine, a machine Account is
automatically created by Samba during the join process.
After restarting the NT machine, the local netlogon process fails to start,
and also some dependent processes, so no domain login is available.
If i try to logon directly after the join process (without the restart) it

Is it possible to boot a CD-Image of a bootable CD (no disk emu) via pxe
Hello Peter,
is it possible to boot a CD-Image of a bootable CD (no disk emu) via pxe.
I've build up the infrastructure to boot normal floppy images via PXE
(under W2K and/or Netware).
I have a ISO image of the bootable CD (1 tack TAO eltorinto with an a
single boot sect -> bootimage is 2kB, ISO image about 600 MB)
I suspect that a combination of MEMDISK and PXELINUX with activated UNDI

Excel 2002, Samba 3.0.2, and "Overwriting Changes"
Hello,
we are experiencing the same problem. Users get a question from Excel 2002 in the format:
The file "<insert .xls file here>" may have been changed by another
user since you last save it. In that case, what do you want to do?"
You are then given the option to save a copy, or to overwrite changes.
We are running 2.2.8a, but in similar environments using the same

using self-written functions
Hi, I am pretty new to R, so I apologize for the obvious question.
I
have worked with R for a few months now and in the process have written
several functions that I frequently use in various data analysis
projects. I tend to give each project a directory of its own and set
the working directory to that.
Since there are several tasks that
need to be accomplished in many of my projects, I

Thank you. The line of code you give certainly resolves several of the
issues.
I didn't realize that font support is such a tough matter to realize. Let me
express my gratitude to those who provide this for us in R.
