error dialing a SIP user. chan_sip.c:1994 create_addr: No such host
The following strange conditions is happening while I try to dial a SIP user from another SIp user. SIP to Zap dialing is fine, as all 4 users can call PSTN. I'm using Asterisk SVN-branch-1.2-r51359M Example: extension 3210 calls extension 3213. They are all registered properly: chrom01*CLI> sip show peers Name/username Host Dyn Nat ACL Port Status 3213/3213

Problem with realtime SIP
Hi Guys, We have just set up Asterisk (CVS Head) for a realtime enviorment using MySQL & Asterisk Addons. I have populated the "sip_buddies" table with the same information that is came from our sip.conf, however registration seems to fail for the softphone we have set up. Does anyone have any idea as to what I should be looking for here? I'm not getting any error messages

debian etch problems with networking and pciback.hide
Hi List, please excuse that this post is again about networking with XEN. Even though I googled and checked other posts for some days now I did not manage to get my installation working. Following some advises I used the late binding of pci. So I created a /etc/modprobe.de/local and added: options pciback hide=(03:00.0)(04:00.0) install e1000 /sbin/modprobe pciback ; /sbin/modprobe

tftp-hpa fails after lost data packet
Hello, I am using the tftp-hpa 0.48 as delivered in Linux Fedora Core 9 as a client to send a file to another server on an unreliable network. The transaction is sometimes timing out. I have monitored the the TFTP packets to see what is missing. It seems a DATA packet is being lost. The server is repeating the ACKs for the previous packet every three seconds. I think these repeated ACKs are

Non standard rubygems location
Hi, Page 183 of Programming Ruby, talking about the $: load path variable, states: "You can always add additional directories to this array from within your running program". So why can''t I do this in environment.rb: $:.concat(Dir["/home/jhughes/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8"]) # path points at my install of rubygems and then have require ''rubygems''

Need help with inbound/outbound PRI calls
I'm running a pretty successful Asterisk system and recently moved our PRI to a T100P board. The PRI was previously connected to a Cisco 2600 that was serving as a voice gateway. We are having a frequent problem with inbound and outbound calls being disconnected shortly after they are answered since moving the PRI directly to the Asterisk box. Most calls work fine, but approx 3 out 10 are

Apache can''t load/require rubygems
Hi, I have rubygems installed in my home directory as I''d like to have control over gems without requiring root access. I''m trying to deploy a known working rails app on this machine but it falls down at the "require ''rubygems''" line in boot.rb. I have added the path to rubygems to LOAD_PATH in environment.rb; this is confirmed by dumping $: to a

tftp-hpa and remap file examples
We just started playing round with tftp-hpa and we are very happy! The issue that is prompting me to write this is that we would like to use the remap file, but are having a hard time getting the syntax correct. I have searched the web and mailing list archive (only back to when the list moved to it's current location), but have not been able to find any examples. Would somebody be so kind

tftpd-hpa feature suggestion
Hello, I had a feature suggestion in mind. I'm using PXELINUX with tftpd-hpa to netboot a debian system. Everything works great. I had an idea to create a dynamic bootup message (DISPLAY command) The idea is simple, instead of sending the file itself, the file will be executed and the output will be sent. Some environment variables can also be defined before executing the script (MAC

tftp-hpa loads but stalls
Hello, I am attempting pxelinux via dhcpd/tftpd. If I use the system default tftpd daemon, then pxelinux loads but then complains about the tsize option. I've downloaded tftp-hpa-0.34, compiled and installed. I also edited inetd.conf according to README.security and then reloaded inetd. /tftpboot directory and all files and directories have nobody:nobody for permissions with at least read

tftp-hpa-0.43 released
Hello, I have pushed out a 0.43 release of tftp-hpa. This release has a couple of low-risk changes; I have a few more substantial changes in the pipeline, and I wanted to push these out first. Changes in 0.43: Fix double-free error on ^c in client. Try to deal with clients that send TFTP requests to broadcasts (apparently some recent Sun boxes do this instead of using the address told by

hpa-tftp source port selection
Good day, I'd just like a bit of information about the source ports that hpa-tftp uses for its TFTP file transfers. We're using it to transfer files across a network that we have heavily firewalled. So, we'd like to know which ports the TFTP server might use as the source port for its data transfers and/or any ways to configure a range that it can use. I dug through the man page,

tftpd-hpa file download status
Quick question: is it possible to get the status of files being downloaded from the tftp server? Perhaps from a log file? Perhaps from an RPC call? I'm using tftpd-hpa along with PXELinux and it would be really nice if I could query the download progress of the kernel and ramdisk images. Thanks, Salman

[tftp-hpa] [patch] building on hpux and add CPPFLAGS
Hi, We just build tftp-hpa on out supported platforms, and I have a very small patch. On hpux, we have a sysexits.h that does not define EX_CONFIG. Also, we like to use CPPFLAGS to point to our include dirs, tftp-hpa doesn't use CPPFLAGS. This can be a little confusing, as the configure checks use CPPFLAGS, but the build itself does not. tftp-hpa backport to openbsd tftpd
Hi I'm working on an update of the openbsd tftpd, mainly to support RFC 2349 (tsize option; and 2347-2348 too). In fact, i backport from tftp-hpa (which came from an old openbsd cvs). I know, i can use tftp-hpa but first it doesn't compile on openbsd, second, i hope the backport could be include in openbsd cvs ... does someone know a tftp client or a test to really know what is good or

Problem using tftpd-hpa 0.34 and armmon bootloader on remote embedded arm-linux board
Hi all, I've been struggling with this for several days now so any help would be very much appreciated! I have a compulab embedded arm board which runs a bootloader called ArmMon. ArmMon supports file fetching over ethernet via a built in tftp client, and Compulab recommend the use of winagents tftp server for windows ... which is a bit naff when I'm cross developing from linux to

addendum to syslinux/ tftp-hpa docs
After a few days of troubleshooting, we finally determined why we were having problems. It seems as though the tftp-hpa daemon requires the MTU of the interface it's running on to be >= 1500. We had the MTU set at 1400 (don't ask why) and the PXE client was receiving fragmented packets and failing. As soon as we set it to over 1500, it worked fine. hpa, Could you please update
