[patch] ./configure problem on Solaris
Hi, I have a problem with tftpd-hpa on Solaris-8, in that the configure script cannot find the regex engine. This is because of the following in configure.in: LIBXTRA=false AC_SEARCH_LIBS(xmalloc, iberty, , LIBXTRA=true AC_LIBOBJ(xmalloc)) AC_SEARCH_LIBS(xstrdup, iberty, , LIBXTRA=true AC_LIBOBJ(xstrdup)) AC_SEARCH_LIBS(bsd_signal, bsd, , LIBXTRA=true AC_LIBOBJ(bsdsignal)) if $LIBXTRA; then

Remap not enabled on some builds...
Hi- Here at Columbia Unix Systems Group we experienced difficulty getting tftpd-hpa to build on certain systems (including Debian Woody), and after investigation, my officemate Lev discovered that it is a problem with the autoconf script, not the source code for the application itself. Perhaps others will be helped by this info... Good luck! Erik Dykema Sent by lev at columbia.edu on

v2.0.0 released
http://dovecot.org/releases/2.0/dovecot-2.0.0.tar.gz http://dovecot.org/releases/2.0/dovecot-2.0.0.tar.gz.sig As promised last Friday, here's the v2.0.0 release finally. I'm cautiously optimistic that v2.0.1 won't (have to) be released for a few weeks, since there was quite a lot of testing and fixing going on in the RC stage. Help with Installation on OpenSolaris (TextDrive Containers)
Gents, I installed ferret successfully in my MacOS (rails development) using the gem install. I did some tests and everything worked fine. Then I tried to install it on the same way on my production environment at TextDrive? running OpenSolaris? (container). This time ''gem install ferret'' seems to be completed: [92140-AA:~/web/labs/blogblogs/trunk] root# gem install ferret

dovecot-1.2.12 fails to build on Solaris 8 and 10
configure fails with : configure: error: Unsupported off_t type I am not too sure what off_t is needed but this is a pretty standard thing. My configure line : ./configure --build=i386-pc-solaris2.10 --host=i386-pc-solaris2.10 --prefix=/opt/csw --with-zlib --with-ssl=openssl --with-storages=mbox,maildir --with-libiconv-prefix=/opt/csw Yes, the openssl libs are in /opt/csw/lib Not sure what

Compilation on Solaris
Dear all, I would like to set up a ferret small search engine on a Solaris machine. Not being a Solaris expert, I''m puzzled by the error messages I get from the C compiler. Since there in no cc on the machine I edited the Makefile to use gcc but there is still lots of error messages: gcc -KPIC -xO3 -xarch=v8 -xspace -xildoff -I/opt/csw/include -I/opt/csw/include -KPIC -fno-common

Fix build error with GCC 10 due to multiple definition of `toplevel'

puppet dashboard and 64-bit mysql
I was looking forward to trying this out, given the puported Solaris support. However, in attempting to install the prereqs for dashboard, I hit a major snag. My main server uses the blastwave MySQL install, which is a 64-bit version of MySQL 5. mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.90, for pc-solaris2.10 (x86_64) Apparently the mysql bindings for ruby don''t like the 64-bit version. Patch for 2.5.1 on Tru64 UNIX 5.x
Tru64 UNIX has getaddrinfo but not by that name. Including <netdb.h> #defines getaddrinfo to ogetaddrinfo or ngetaddrinfo which exists in /usr/shlib/libc.so. So, AC_CHECK_FUNC(getaddrinfo) isn't enough to test for getaddrinfo. Best to AC_TRY_LINK so the #define takes effect. -- albert chin (china@thewrittenword.com) -- snip snip --- configure.in.orig Thu Jan 3 19:03:54 2002 +++

AIX lacks getopt_long
* As a test I added the 'struct option' to the file needing it, and this confirmed the need for getopt_long() which AIX libc.a does not include. * p.s. I ran this dry-run from the "root" directory, perhaps it would be better from the ./src directory --- src/x071-test/src/doveadm/doveadm-cmd.c 2017-06-12 06:10:53 +0000 +++ src/AIX-port/src/doveadm/doveadm-cmd.c
