playing with SO_BROADCAST on centos
I have a small program that I am broadcasting out on port 36 and
attempting to receive information back.
Using "tcpdump port 36" I can see 2 devices responding to me
but I get no data.
The response my program gets is:
Size IP Address Subnet MAC Address ID

Does someone know what I might not be doing

Winbind traffic not encrypted
A problem here getting winbind traffic to be encrypted using Kerberos.
I have set up a test environment with a pair of servers (actually lxc
containers):
- samba server (ubuntu 16.04, stock samba 4.3.11)
- client machine (ubuntu 16.04) joined with "net ads join" and winbind
The client machine has the following in /etc/samba/smb.conf:
-------
[global]
#netbios name = client-ad

oplcok_break more information (PR#12734)
Hi! After more work on the oplock_break problem, I've found the following
in my tcpdump-smb logging. It seems that when ost5 (pid=26339 in the logs
that follow) requests access to the oplocked file comm.inf from ost6
(pid=5872) the oplock_break failes (this is NOT isolated to any one or two
systems on our network, just using these two as an example, and the server
reports no dropped packets

Error accessing [homes] after 3.0.25b update (uppercase)
OS is smeserver, based on CentOS/RHEL 4.
After update to samba 3.0.25b (included in RHEL U6) users who had
"mapped" their home in Network places were unable to access the share.
All other shares worked.
On every attempt a line similar to the following was logged:

PXE booting ASUS NVidia board: odd file not found errors
Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to get an asus motherboard to netboot. It has an
integrated Nvidia boot agent that's supposed to network boot pxe
happily.
I've setup the necessary services and environments in tftpd, however,
the boot agent is running into trouble requesting files from the tftp
server. It always seems to receive File Not Found errors. The
filenames are specified properly

[3.0.23d] winbind: ads_connect for domain X failed: Operations error
SAMBA 3.0.23d (netbios name is PDC01, domain is LINBOXTEST)
Windows 2000 server SP4 in mixed mode (netbios name is MAFIA-L6FFST3UP,
domain is ADTEST / adtest.linbox.com)
Hello,
So I've successfully established a two ways interdomain trust
relationship between a SAMBA PDC and a Windows domain. It was working
fine: for example a windows user was able to connect on a share on the
SAMBA server.

pxelinux takes too long trying all the config file options
Hi All,
I have a situation where I want to netboot and ONLY use pxelinux.cfg/default.
It seems to take FOREVER for pxelinux to try all of the config file
file options before falling through to default .... trying each
possible combination multiple times ... increasing the wait time
everytime it doesn't get a response.

I have included the hex dump, I hope it will help
to pinpoint the problem.

I made other tests. It's not a matter of Win98 versus WinXP, things
change passing from tftpd32 v310beta to v3.33. This version seems to
work fine, but the logs show problems. Here is the complete log with

I found a solution to that part by using a different form of principal
name with "hostname$"
root at client-ad:~# kinit -k -t /etc/krb5.keytab 'CLIENT-AD$@AD.EXAMPLE.NET'
root at client-ad:~# klist
Ticket cache: FILE:/tmp/krb5cc_0

SCCP (skinny) phone behind NAT: RTP dest addr wrong
Greetings:
I have a working configuration for SCCP on our LANS which doesn't
route RTP correctly to a skinny phone behind NAT registering from
a remote public IP.
Configuration:
asterisk 1.4.35 servicing only skinny phones trunked to
asterisk 1.2.40 which services chan_phone FXS, zap FXO
and SIP phones; both instances of asterisk are behind NAT
and run on the same host (using different base

The game installs perfectly. It can be started. Its possible display

CentOS 6 and pxeboot
Hi, folks,
We've been using pxeboot to pull up a menu, to build or rebuild
machines for years. We have this new server, and it fails. Times out.
What's happening is that it tries in this order

SUCCESS: OpenSSH_6.7p1-snap20150220
Compiled OK, and operating nicely on CentOS 6.6, both 32/64 bit.
Really appreciate the UpdateHostkeys feature!
One issue I noticed, the screen output gets garbled if the user has been "asked" to "Accept" the new hostkeys.
Looks like the screen output is missing the CR's, and only LF's get presented.

Invalid or corrupt kernel image
Hi,
I am trying to setup my own PXE boot server. I tried several PXE bootable Linux-Distributions.
For example if I use the ubuntu netboot image from [1] it works quit well but there are a few other images they do not work in my case e.g.: RIPLinuX [2]. A friend tested this image on his PXE boot server with success. I also checked the download with md5sum.
In my case I can see the boot menu [3].

Codec negotiation for Thomson ST2030 and g729
Hi all,
i'm trouble with codec setup on an asterisk machine 1.4.18 and some
Thomson ST2030 as extensions.
In the users.conf file for internal extension i have:
disallow=all
allow=g729
allow=alaw
allow=ulaw
Without any codec installed (i mean with original g729 of asterisk)
all go fine, calling from an extension to one other:
