isolinux.cfg location?
Hi, On isolinux's website, it is stated that: "NOTE: ISOLINUX will search for the config file directory in the order /boot/isolinux, /isolinux, /. The first directory that exists is used, even if it contains no files. Therefore, please make sure that these directories don't exist if you don't want ISOLINUX to use them." Why this limitation is present?? I'm trying

Cisco AS5XXX + CallerID Name
Hi guys. We have currently Asterisk CVS-v1-0-08/15/05-15:53:48 connected in SIP with a Cisco AS5300 (IOS 12.3). One PRI is connected to the Cisco gateway. The problem we have is that on incoming PSTN calls to the AS5300, relayed in SIP to Asterisk, the callerID name is not being transmitted. We received the callerID number but no name. I know we are receiving the name from the PRI in

Jails and loopback interfaces
Hi, Running: Freebsd 6.0 I am wondering if it is possible to have acces to loopback ip in a jail. I currently have a server running a jail. In the jail, there is a database and a web server. I would like to be able to have the database only bind on a loopback address and not on the jail's ip. Can this be done and how? Thanks -Cyril

Cannot have eth0 in domU
Hello, I am trying to run Xen 3 on FC5, but I cannot have the eth0 interface appear in domU. I have 3 servers running FC3 and Xen 2 with various domUs since a year. Everything is fine on that front. I took one of the server, upgraded it to FC5 and did the following: - yum install xen kernel-xen0 kernel-xenU - grub.conf contains title Fedora Core (2.6.15-1.2054_FC5xen0 root (hd0,0) kernel

How can you buy R?
Hi all, This may seem like a dumb question, but I work for an entity that is soon converting to XP across the board, and I will lose the ability to install software on my own. The entity has a policy of only using software that has been purchased and "properly licensed" (whatever that means). This means I will soon lose the ability to use R at work - something I can't do without

glmm for binomial data? (OT)
A while ago (April 2002) there was a short thread on software for generalized linear mixed models. Since that time, has anyone written or found R code to use a glmm to analyze binomial data? I study CWD in white-tailed deer, and I'd like to do a similar analysis as Kleinschmidt et al. (2001, Am. J. Epidemiology 153: 1213-1221) used to assess control for spatial structure in malaria

Principal Component analysis question
I have a question about princomp(mva) that I hope isn't too newbie. I used the sample data from Table 1.1 in "Manly (1986/1994) Multivariate Statistical Methods: a primer. Chapman and Hall" on sparrow body measurements. I rescaled the data to mean 0 and SD 1, and the covariance matrix is: V1 V2 V3 V4 V5 V1 1.0000000 0.7349642 0.6618119

Stallman @ NYU
I did manage to dv-tape this from the front row, and thus got pretty fair audio, but a slightly awkward camera angle. NYU Media Lab had a tripod set up at the back, and were apparently intending to webcast the results via real. They were a little taken aback when I mentioned Richard's aversion to propietary formats, and thanked me profusely for pointing it out, and saving them grief.

compilation error when installing GLMMGibbs on SuSE Linux 8.2 (R v. 1.7.1)
I getting compilation errors when trying to install GLMMGibbs (see below). I'm running R v 1.7.1 on SuSE Linux 8.2. Has anyone else had this problem? I tried it on a Win2000/R 1.5.1 combination and it worked fine. Any hints are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, Damien >install.packages("GLMMGibbs") trying URL `http://cran.r-project.org/src/contrib/PACKAGES'

factorials
I'm a total newbie at using R, and so there probably is a better way to do this. However, I couldn't find one, and so maybe this will help someone. I was calculating log-likelihoods using a multinomial model, and found that for large n, prod(n:1) wouldn't work to calculate factorials (e.g., prod(200:1) = Inf). The below function calculates the natural log of a factorial (e.g.

Rsync, Cygwin, & SSH: ntsec OR nontsec?
Hi all, Thank-you to all the developers for rsync. It is very well done. I have rsync running on various platforms connecting to the same server and all is good. Except for 1 Win2000 Prof. server. I backup several directories with various permissions and users successfully. However, there are 2 directories that even though the permissions are the same as other directories that are
