menu.c32 - Just loads the menu.c32 over and over.
Hi, I am trying to use the Simple Menu system for SYSLINUX/ISOLINUX, but it fails to work. The menu apper, I can select menu entries, but pressing "ENTER" just takes me back to start. It seem like menu.c32 just reloads. Pressing Space does almost the same, exept the selected item is the one on the bottom instead of the top. By pressing ESC and getting back to command line, I am able

unable to boot XP (Image checksum error)
Hi, I'm trying to make a triple-boot recovery CD containing Linux System Rescue, XP Recovery Console, and DOS/WinME for GHOST etc. I can compile the ISO fine, and the System Rescue stuff works fine too, but when I try to boot the XP image isolinux says "Image checksum failure... sorry" and dies. Details below, separated with dashes

Isolinux doesn't boot
hi, i've been trying around for a month or so to get isolinux on my toshiba satellite 4010cdt running. It doesn't really work. The debug version says the following: ISOLINUX 1.75 2002-06-14 ... isolinux: Startinug up, DL = 82 isolinux: Loaded spec packed OK, drive = 82 and that's it. No boot there. If I chain-load (or however that's called) my Isolinux - CDs with "Smart

OT: Question on running command from boot menu
I have a project that disk imaging from a cd using isolinux and a dialog gui system, but some users want to setup systems to run automatically. Some can download the development kit, and built an image with a modified script, but others don't have the skills or resources. I've come up with a system that seems to work with both the isolinux.cfg or menu.lst with grub4dos and I believe

Windows boot-NTLDR not found?
Hello All, I am using NU2's BCD with the isolunix/memdisk add-on to create the cd. Floppy images work fine, however the bootsector (w2K et.al) doesn't. I get an NTLDR not found error. Not a problem, as the issue is that the bootsector needs to be in the root of the CD. Well if I do that then how do I spec that location properly in isolinux.cfg for the label tag? For example- this

Can't boot NT floppy
Hi, Thanks a lot for your exceptional work.... I guess many people dealing with bootable CD's just could'nt do anything without isolinux... However I've got a small problem. In fact the problem is maybe due to my BIOS (Phoenix on an HP Vectra VL800), and maybe due to isolinux / memdisk, I don't know. Generally speaking, take any floppy, format it under Win2K, copy from your hard

"isolinux.bin missing or corrupt" when booting USB flash drive in old PC
Hi, Ady wrote: > In the last few years, ISOLINUX has received very low attention, both > upstream and downstream. Nevertheless the well established Linux distros use it for their ISOs. Most have adopted mjg's isohybrid --uefi layout. Only SuSE does it different. So for me with my xorriso hat on, ISOLINUX is as an important partner as is GRUB. > So I' am about to (attempt to)

memdisk and winxp boot disk
syslinux-1.75 We have many legacy boot disks (setup for nics, scsi adapters, ...) and I'm trying to put all of them on 1 CD which would ask the user "which floppy image you want to boot?" I'm using isolinux. I've a problem with the winxp boot floppy made as per: http://support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?ID=KB;EN-US;Q305595 (format a: and then cp ntldr

MEMDISK and Doc Memory
Peter: Just wanted to report yet another happy customer for ISOLINUX. Have been using it successfully for several months as the loader/menu for my bootable CD/DVD projects. ISOLINUX isn't nearly as quirky as GRUB and given the latest improvement on the documentation front, I even have the graphical splssh+menu I looked to GRUB for. Thank you very much. I have one observation and

isolinux boot issue...
I'm creating a Linux "live" CD that boots just fine on our newer machines... but isolinux is not working on some of our older ones. The older boxes work fine with boot floppy image systems like Knoppix... so I'm wondering if there's something more I can do to make them happier with isolinux? By "older", I mean a generic P-120 motherboard with an Award v4.50PG

floppy disk emulation boot regression
I am in the process of trying to update a bootable Linux CD that I initally built some time ago using RedHat 7.3 and syslinux 1.x (I believe that x = 52, but this doesn't seem to be relevant). In order to do this, I first built a floppy disk image and made it bootable by running "syslinux -s" on the image; then I incorporated this image into a CD using "mkisofs -b boot.img -c

multi-boot CD question
Hello everyone, I am attempting to add another boot option to our multi-boot technical resource CD where I work. I currently have 8 working floppy disk images, but this time I need to add a piece of software which I only have access to through an ISO image. This ISO image, when burned to a CD, boots and runs the software fine. I know that isolinux does not support booting ISO images. I used

Question concerning booting from Floppy Drive
First I'd like to thank you, and everyone who has contributed to the isolinux development. It has been the solution to many of my development needs. Currently I am creating a Linux system that runs directly from CD. Currently the CD is working and I am using isolinux to boot the CD. The compressed kernel is approximately 2 meg and the compressed initial ramdisk is approximately 4 meg.

memdisk requires floppy drive to boot
Hello! Below is an excerpt from the thread in October. I have the same problem, but my laptop (which is a Brand new HP Compaq NC6230) does not have options in the BIOS to enable or disable floppy support. It just doesn't have one. I assume it leaves it enabled for USB Floppy support, but does not come with the drive. My ISOLinux setup is a UBCD. I tried to make my own, but the lack of

isolinux not booting - old 486 with SCSI CD writer
I am trying to install Debian Linux on an an old Intel Classic R+ computer that uses an internal Yamaha SCSI CD writer model CRW8424S connected to an Adaptec ISA SCSI card (I think its a 1542CP). The CD writer is is the only device connected to the SCSI card. The computer has one hard drive connected to the on-board IDE interface, a 1.44MB 3 1/2 inch floppy and a 1.2MB 5 1/4 inch floppy. The hard
