[jonathan.picht@web.de: Bug#133557: flac: --fast and --best switches (as in gzip and bzip2) would be nice]
Sounds simple enough, and would provide clear and explicit descriptions that
can be used in place of the numeric options.

ext2fs_read_bb_inode: Invalid argument && Can't read an block bitmap
Hello,
sorry if the question was asked a couple of times before but I couldn't
find any useful hinds to this problem using google and the listman
search-engine of the archive of this list.
Somehow the ext3 filesystem on one of my machines died an after a reboot
grub wouldn't come up again.
What I did so far:
fsck -y /dev/hda4
fsck 1.35 (28-Feb-2004)
e2fsck 1.35 (28-Feb-2004)

recovery system
First: My English is not that good, I hope you can understand what I mean.
We plan to build a recovery system for the computer in our school. We want
to put an [computername].tar.bz2 for every computer onto our server. When
the computer does not work we want to use a Linux bootdisk to boot the
computer, mount the drive, erase what is there and extract the .tar.bz2 onto
the disk. This is where we

Asterisk with TE 121 DADHI incoming calls fail
Dear Customer Support,
i connected the asterisk to a e1 interface of our hipath4000. outgoing
calls from a sip peer of my asterisk to an up0 telephone which iss
connected to the hipath4000 are working. If you want to dial from an up0
device to the e1 interface where asterisk is connected to, you have to
use the prefix 83. But when you enter the 3rd cipher this error appears

correct.
They area cut off.
I guess I have to change the letf and right margins, but I do not know
how.
Here is an example:

Client with SSL client cert support?
Good day, all,
I've gleaned that dovecot has support for verifying SSL client certs on
connect. What IMAP clients have people found that support sending a
specific SSL cert? I can't find this feature in Thunderbird, at least.
Thanks,
Peter

syslinux boot fails with 2.4.18 but works with 2.2.22
I try to make a floppy disk for replaying a disk image to a harddrive. The
image is on our server and is only accessable by nfs because its bigger than
2 gig so it is not possible to store it temporarily on the computer. So I
created a floppy disk with syslinux 2.00, busybox 0.60.5 and uClibc 0.9.16.
Using a 2.2.22 kernel (with nfs and all build in) all worked but busybox,
cause uClibc won't

pxelinux, dhcp and multiple interfaces on the device
Short version:
Is there a way to find out which interface PXE booted from?
Long version:
I'm working on a cluster of machines, each using a networked
root filesystem, booting via PXE. Some of these machines have
multiple interfaces, some of which are going to be on networks
that have functioning DHCP servers that will offer addresses.
I'd like to have modular network drivers.

The computer hangs while booting the kernel
I've been working on getting syslinux running for a project I'm working on,
and am running into the same problem (roughly) that Julian Picht was having
back in March 2003 that he described on this list.
To quote his problem...

SYSLINUX 2.03-pre4
Hi,
I have the pre4-Version installed since today morning, and it's working
fine so far.
I have some quetion about it:
How can I create a boot-Picture for the PXE-Stuff with Wi****s-Tools for
example Paintshop Pro 5.03 ??
I already tried to load one of the Examples and saving the modified Pic back
but it didn't work.
I would love to have a blue background with white letters and red

Upgrade from b113 to b122 - any gotchas
We are running 4 Solaris10u7 DomUs on a b113 Dom0
I''d like to upgrade the Dom0 to b122 but not rebuild the DomUs. Below
is a typical DomU xml dump. Is there anything obvious that will bite
me in upgrading from 113 to 122?
Thanks

same extension on multiple sip phones?
I have a need to have the two sip phones register with the same
extension (at least I think I have the need :)
A client wants an incoming call to ring at the receptionists desk and
also at their desk. If the receptionist is in it will be answered there
and put on hold followed by a "Joe, you have a call on line 1".
Is there a way to do this w/ asterisk? I've played with two

pxelinux 2.04+ hangs after loading kernel
Hi,
I just tried to boot my token ring devices with 2.05 - to no avail,
it hangs after loading the kernel. I then tried older versions, and found
2.03 booting like a charm, and every 2.04-pre including 2.04 hanging.
Here's the config of the devices:
- Networkstation 2800 with IBM PCI Token Ring card 2
- IBM Thinkpad T21 with IBM PCI Token Ring card 2
Maybe this has to do with the changes

hangup detection
So I made the mistake of buying a Carrier Access channel bank without
noticing the page on the wiki about the fact that they don't support
disconnect supervision (bastards!). However, apart from that, I do have
it working fine for incoming calls.
Is there some trick to get asterisk to detect the hangup tones from
SBC? I've tried busydetect and callprogress as suggested, but neither

Great, thanks.
Just to confirm, --best will give the currenty -9 behaviour, not the
maybe-best-compression-but-really-really-not-what-you-want that used to be
-9, right?
(I can't conveniently check CVS from here)

Disk images and syslinux
Hi,
I'm working on a Red Hat 7.3 based bootable cd. I have included a number of firmware update floppy images to it succesfully. However, I run into problems trying to build a floppy image for IBM ServerRAID firmware update. The firmware update disk set contains three disks. So their content does not fit into 1.44 nor 2.88 floppy images.
To my understanding it possible to build a hard disk

plot: many bars with wide bars
Hello,
I have got another problem.
I wrote a function which is able to create plots with different numbers of
bars.
In order to give them a similar look I determined the width of the bars
using the parameters
width=0.59
AND
ylim=c(0,10))
(see function below)
Now, this only works if I have just got up to 6 double bars. In the
following example it doesn't work because the bars for the
