IBM Token ring Cards, PXE1 vs. PXE2
Other then working with pxelinux or not, does anyone know the diffrences
in these? Also, why pxelinux fails on PXE2?

Problem with mkisofs (i guess :-))
Hello! I have a problem with a bootable cd that i'm
trying to make ..
The problem is that i don't know what all the mkisofs
parameters do and because that weird things happen, if
the filenames or directorynames contain spaces they do
not open and if i'm in windows's safe mode it gives me
an error message stating that the file or folder does
not exist! Can anyone help with that?

[jonathan.picht@web.de: Bug#133557: flac: --fast and --best switches (as in gzip and bzip2) would be nice]
Sounds simple enough, and would provide clear and explicit descriptions that
can be used in place of the numeric options.

ext2fs_read_bb_inode: Invalid argument && Can't read an block bitmap
Hello,
sorry if the question was asked a couple of times before but I couldn't
find any useful hinds to this problem using google and the listman
search-engine of the archive of this list.
Somehow the ext3 filesystem on one of my machines died an after a reboot
grub wouldn't come up again.
What I did so far:
fsck -y /dev/hda4
fsck 1.35 (28-Feb-2004)
e2fsck 1.35 (28-Feb-2004)

Building TFTP-HPA
Is TFTP-HPA written as a portable app?
In other words, what chance do I have of getting it built on OS/2?

what happens to text after the label?
Hi All,
Interesting that I couldn't find this documented anywhere, but
what happens to text that is typed after the label on the syslinux
prompt?
My current issue is I'm using PXE to do kickstart installations. I
want the ability to do "rescue" boots also with PXE. I've gone
looking at the current RH80 disk 1 which has this capability. It
has a directory called

recovery system
First: My English is not that good, I hope you can understand what I mean.
We plan to build a recovery system for the computer in our school. We want
to put an [computername].tar.bz2 for every computer onto our server. When
the computer does not work we want to use a Linux bootdisk to boot the
computer, mount the drive, erase what is there and extract the .tar.bz2 onto
the disk. This is where we

Disk images and syslinux
Hi,
I'm working on a Red Hat 7.3 based bootable cd. I have included a number of firmware update floppy images to it succesfully. However, I run into problems trying to build a floppy image for IBM ServerRAID firmware update. The firmware update disk set contains three disks. So their content does not fit into 1.44 nor 2.88 floppy images.
To my understanding it possible to build a hard disk

Creating a bootable floppy
I'm reading the docs accompanying SYSLINUX where it says:-
++++ CREATING A BOOTABLE LINUX FLOPPY +++
In order to create a bootable Linux floppy using SYSLINUX, prepare a
normal MS-DOS formatted floppy. Copy one or more Linux kernel files to
it, then execute the DOS command:
syslinux [-s] a:
Now before I run this program, I'd like to know which 'one or more Linux

A client wants an incoming call to ring at the receptionists desk and
also at their desk. If the receptionist is in it will be answered there
and put on hold followed by a "Joe, you have a call on line 1".
Is there a way to do this w/ asterisk? I've played with two

hangup detection
So I made the mistake of buying a Carrier Access channel bank without
noticing the page on the wiki about the fact that they don't support
disconnect supervision (bastards!). However, apart from that, I do have
it working fine for incoming calls.
Is there some trick to get asterisk to detect the hangup tones from
SBC? I've tried busydetect and callprogress as suggested, but neither

Great, thanks.
Just to confirm, --best will give the currenty -9 behaviour, not the
maybe-best-compression-but-really-really-not-what-you-want that used to be
-9, right?

No DHCP on default network when guest has multiple interfaces
Hello,
I am trying to boot a VM in libvirt that has 2 interfaces. The first
interface is connected to the default network and the second connects to a
bridge interface on the host. When the VM boots the first interface doesn't
receive an IP address from DHCP. It works when the VM only has one
interface though.
If I login to the VM using virsh console I noticed that in NetworkManager

How to have two interfaces with dhcp using networkd but taking the dns/ntp stuff from only one
Ok, we can take both but needs to be in a specific order. So, we have
two ethernet interfaces, A and B. And both are defined in
/etc/systemd/network/ to use dhcp. How to guarantee that the crap
provided by dhcp to A (dns, gateway, ntp) is the default? To use an
example, /etc/resolv.conf should end up like
nameserver IP.for.A.DNS
nameserver IP.for.B.DNS
domain A.domain.com
Now, this must be done
