iso 2.00 isolinux: Checksum error, sorry...
Hi, I tried to install redhat 8.0 on a laptop and ran into the following problem. ISOLINUX 1.75 2002-06-14 isolinux failed to get sector size, assuming 0800 isolinux: Image checksum error, sorry... At that point, I followed the advice on the isolinux webpage, and reburned a CD using isolinux 2.00 with debug. The error message was: ISOLINUX 2.00 2002-10-25 Copyright (C) 1994-2002 H. Peter

Centos7 Net install on HP A1710N fails
Folks Just for laughs, I took an older 64-bit machine, HP Pavillion A1710N, and tried a net-install of Centos7. The installer complained that there was no network devices available. I then tried a Centos6 Netinstall disk, and it found the controller and worked fine. What should I do? I'd love to get C7 installed on it. David

[1/1] [gfxboot] align buffer used to read data from disk to a 512 byte boundary
The COM API provides a function to read from disk (int 22h, AX=07h) which needs a destination buffer aligned on a 512 byte boundary. gfxboot uses this function but doesn't ensure its data buffer is properly aligned. This leads to failures on a few machines (HP Pavillion dv5): gfxboot: isolinux: Disk error 09, AX = 424F, drive FE https://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=48814 has a bit more

Trouble with WOW "Trouble finding sutible display device".
The launcher downloads fine but when I push "Play" I get this error message. I am have not updated the drivers on my laptop because I have no idea how. Also, I installed "wine-1.2.2-i486.pet" which was probably the wrong move but it was a pain to find a .pet for wine 1.2.2. Yes, I know that downloading WOW on a Puppy linux box is a little silly but I am also having trouble

Classifying Intertwined Spirals
I'm using an SVM as I've seen a paper that reported extremely good results. I'm not having such luck. I'm also interested in ideas for other approaches to the problem that can also be applied to general problems (no assuming that we're looking for spirals). Here is my code: library(mlbench) library(e1071) raw <- mlbench.spirals(194, 2) spiral <-

We have real-time application written C++ which runs on Solaris 10 having a problem that''s the my application grows in size from 130 Mb to 450Mb in around 15 days. So there is two possibilities with the application growth of memory due to Size growth of Dictionary Objects (Like Maps) and Memory Leak.

Important :: Please support the development of a new Jitterbuffer for SIP
Steve Kann has developed a new jitterbuffer for IAX2, that hopefully will be integrated into Asterisk v1.1 soon, to be part of the 1.2 stable relase. Zoa and his bulgarian team is porting this buffer to SIP/RTP, but needs support in the form of funding in order to take the time to test this out and complete it in time. Please paypal your contribution to sponsor@astertest.com today. Every

CentOS 5: comment swap in fstab
I'm not sure what gave me this idea, but I decided to comment out the swap partition in /etc/fstab and reboot my laptop. I did not run swapoff directly at any time. I'm running more things now than I would ever dream of to hammer my 500MB of memory, but I still notice NO slowdown. This is the best desktop experience I've ever had for any OS on any hardware! dtrace-discuss Digest, Vol 69, Issue 2
Hello Srikant - A quantization distributes the results of your aggregation into ranges ordered by a power-of-two. Presumably what you''d do in your script is capture the inclusive elapsed time of each function call in your library, then use this quantization to see how tightly-banded the times are. Perhaps there''s some blocking I/O in some of your calls, for example, in which
