SYSLinux/ISOLinux question
Look into the original XP cd and see where NTLDR is located, then place it on your cd in the same directory and it 'should' work. I have created some 2000 XP boot cd's with integrated recent service pack's and they still boot. But I do that with cdrecord+original boot sector, not with any isolinux stuff... But I hope this help! -----Original Message----- From: G. Murali

ISOLinux + PXELinux
Is it possible to have a isolinux based boot CD, where one of the options is to boot off the network. This would mean, 1. The kernel that one boots into is on the network and not on the CD. So easy to make changes. 2. One does not need a 'PXE enabled' network card. - Murali

Isolinux bug: CD bootsector support broken
HPA, I believe that support to boot windows CD bootsectors was broken in 3.05. I have tested 2.13, 3.00, 3.02, 3.05, 3.06, 3.08, 3.11, and 3.20pre6. All versions >= 3.05 are broken. All versions <= 3.02 work fine with the same config. The error message I get is: ================================================================ IOSLINUX 3.20 3.20-pre6 Copyright (C) 1994-2005 H. isolinux problem
I am trying to make a bootable cd using isolinux. Cdrecord says that isolonux.bin is not an allowable size. Isn't it supposed to be the size of a diskette? Is there a FAQ I missed or can you point me to some more docs? -- Ed Weinberg <edw at q5comm.com> -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Wiki write access request
Hi, I'd like write access to the wiki - initially to just the following pages: http://wiki.centos.org/Cloud/Docker ? Add how-to build the Docker base images yourself. (There are cases -such as an isolated private cloud- where this may be necessary) http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Subversion ? Refresh for CentOS 7 / SVN 1.8 / Add AD integration how-to I would also like to have the rights to

I have a small problem with my COM32 image. It is more related to how the COM32 images get their arguments. Here are the relavent parts of my isolinux.cfg ----- # default image = defimg default defimg # Boot automatically after 5 seconds timeout 50 # By default auto select image. If no autoselect list # found, then boot into prep label defimg kernel readker.c32 append prep

file size limit in apache 2.0 on centos 4
I think I am encountering a download file size limit on centos 4 with httpd-2.0.52 The file in question is 5.2G in size, it does not show up in a browser directory listing, and I'm getting the error in the http error_log value too large for defined data type: access can someone confirm that there is a 4GB limit (or other) in the standard apache 2.0 on CentOS 4? Local Variable Troubles
Hi all, I currently have a partial named _menu, where I generate the menu for my site. I pass locals to it with a render :partial. I have the partial check for 2 items, display_title and klass. I only pass these to the partial if I need to use them, otherwise no locals named display_title or klass are present in the partial. I test to see if these exists by doing the following: <% unless

Booting another isolinux.bin with isolinux
Hi, I tried to build a multiboot DVD and decided to integrate the SuSE Linux LiveDVD. For several reasons the easiest way (as far as I can see) to do this is to boot the isolinux of the SuSE DVD with the "main" isolinux on my multiboot DVD. I do not want to use SuSE's modified version as default boot loader for some reasons! I decided to do it as follows (correct me, if

isolinux - memdisk problems
I had posted the problem described below about two weeks ago, and I would like to add some odd behaviour even on machines where the zip image is loaded correctly (without divide by zero). If I call DOS fdisk, when booted from the image, fdisks asks if it should enable the large disk support and the returns immediately to the command prompt. regards -- Bernhard Treutwein

ISOLinux and OpenBSD?
>+ booting floppy34.fs image from the CD works correctly (no ISOLinux, in >built BIOS emulates the floppy) Hi, have you tried the following (Isolinux direct emulation): KERNEL 34FS.IMG should function the same as if direct 1.44MB eltorito emulation was used. but using MEMDISK it fails? KERNEL MEMDISK APPEND INITRD=34FS.IMG that's all I can come up with .

ISOLinux Windows / linux Install DVD
I am trying to create a DVD with ISOLinux as the bootloader to allow my users to select to install either Linux or Windows. Having read the article http://syslinux.zytor.com/archives/2002-October/001135.html i am left in a bit of a confused state as it sort of half explains things. All i think i need to know is: 1. What files are needed to boot windows? 2. Where do i have to place the

multiplication question
folks, is there a clever way to compute the sum of the product of two vectors such that the common indices are not multiplied together? i.e. if i have vectors X, Y, how can i compute Sum (X[i] * Y[j]) i != j where i != j also, what if i wanted Sum (X[i] * Y[j] * R[i, j]) i != j where R is a matrix? thanks, murali
