Trying to build ISOLinux Minimal CD
Okay..
I'm pulling out my hair, not having much luck trying to get ISOLinux
(syslinux) running on my IBM x345 Server...
I want to put my boot (syslinux) and root files (lib etc for modules) on
the CDROM and just boot off of it to use PartImage...
Not having much luck though..
For testing purposes I'm using the boot floopy I created using "The Linux
Bootdisk HOWTO" and it

CentOS-docs Digest, Vol 94, Issue 1
Thanks, I can edit the requested pages.
However I can't create a personal home page, I get the error "You are not allowed to edit this page" when I click on the "Create my home page now!" link.

Wiki write access request
Hi,
I'd like write access to the wiki - initially to just the following pages:
http://wiki.centos.org/Cloud/Docker
? Add how-to build the Docker base images yourself. (There are cases -such as an isolated private cloud- where this may be necessary)
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Subversion
? Refresh for CentOS 7 / SVN 1.8 / Add AD integration how-to
I would also like to have the rights to

button_to with image
I''m calling button_to in my page, and it renders a form with a submit
button just fine. But what I''d really like is
<input type="img" src="myimage.png" .....>
instead of
<input type="submit...>
button_to doesn''t seem able to do this, :type and :src parameters get
ignored. Is there a way to do it?

problems using samba as PDC
Hi list,
We are in the process of replacing our current Windows 2k file server with a
Debian Linux one running Samba.
I am running Samba 2.999+3.0.Alpha21 which is packaged for Debian in the
Unstable tree.
I believe I have configured everything correctly however when I login from a
Windows client it is creating the users profile under there home directory
rather than in the profile directory

SCP file corruptions
Hi,
I apparently was asleep at the wheel using scp, and accidentally copied a
file onto itself. Scp generated an Input/Output error and did not perform
the copy. However, now the file is corrupt. Is this a but? Is there anyway
to fix the file I messed up?
Thanks,

ActionPack: number_to_phone error
Question about the number_to_phone function as provided by rails in actionpack:
http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/ActionView/Helpers/NumberHelper.html
If I do this in my controller:
num = number_to_phone(params[:phone_number])
I get this error:

Local Variable Troubles
Hi all,
I currently have a partial named _menu, where I generate the menu for my
site. I pass locals to it with a render :partial. I have the partial check
for 2 items, display_title and klass. I only pass these to the partial if I
need to use them, otherwise no locals named display_title or klass are
present in the partial. I test to see if these exists by doing the
following:

OpenSSH and Solaris groups
I have an odd problem and I was wondering if anyone has ever run into this
before. I have a machine running solaris 8, OpenSSH 3.1p1 and OpenSSL
0.9.6c and it has been working fine for quite some time (ssh that is).
Today, /etc/system was updated to increase the maximum number of groups
from 16 to 32. After the system was rebooted, things seemed to be working
as expected, however one of our

Corrupted transaction log and redownloading
Hi,
today we had to hard-reboot one of our dovecot proxy backends and
after boot up, lot's of accounts were showing this error and appeard
empty:
Error: Corrupted transaction log file ...
After deleting the indexes (not uid file, problem wasn't in deleting
indexes, i'm doing this often), e-mails showed up ok but e-mail
clinets started to download them again.
Why this

Emails redownloading
Hi,
recently, we had a problem on one of our mail servers and, after
reboot, HDD with emails wasn't mounted into system. Until we fixed it,
LOTS of users logged in (Dovecot allowed login and recreated directory
structure of mailboxes) and saw empty mailboxes. Now they are
redownloading all email, which isn't fun, as it's about 2 TB of data.
Anyway, is there a way how to

streaming ogg from WinAmp
Hi list,
I was just wondering if there was a way to stream using ogg format from
WinAmp.
I could always take the output from WinAmp and feed it in to the sound card
on my Linux box and use the live streaming option of ices, but that sounds a
bit messy.
Also what is a recommended quality to stream ogg at so that modem listeners
can pick it up with out many skips. I found that 32k was fine in

Dovecot/K9/Thunderbird IMAP interaction issues: replicated messages, constant reloading (TB) & missing new messages (K-9)

I suspect these are related problems and further that they are related
to some trivial newb error I've made in my configuration, but searching

Sure but imapsync does not preserve message UID's which means that users
end up redownloading all their messages or message/UID mismatches will
happen.

I don't think so. Been using imapsync for large scale migrations from
external servers to our dovecot setup. Users
