PXELINUX memory overwrite bug - SYSLINUX 2.00-pre9 released
Hi everyone,
Kevin Tran of Broadcom just identified a very serious bug in PXELINUX
where random parts of the PXE stack would get overwritten by PXELINUX.
As a result, I have release SYSLINUX 2.00-pre9 for testing; if you have
had problems with PXELINUX **PLEASE** test this version. I will try to
make a SYSLINUX 2.00 some time this week if this tests out OK.
I will also hunt for similar bugs

SYSLINUX 3.63 released (and 3.70-pre9)
Hello everyone,
I have released SYSLINUX 3.63. The main update is a fix to EXTLINUX,
which would get confused by directories with deleted file entries.
Special thanks to Stas Kysel of rPath, Inc. for spotting this problem
and giving me an excellent test case; and of course to rPath, Inc. in
general for being my employer and being extremely supportive of my
SYSLINUX work!
I have also

SYSLINUX 3.00-pre10 released
I really hope to God this is the last prerelease of SYSLINUX 3.00...
I have added code to isolinux to give a pointer to SBM, but in order for
it to fit I had to reorganize sector 0 slightly. Therefore, I decided
it called for another prerelease (sigh.)
Other changes versus -pre9 is fixing the Makefile and specfile so the
RPM builds, fixing up mkdiskimage and adding a README about how to deal

SYSLINUX 3.11-pre10
Okay, the serial port feature in 3.11-pre9 was of course completely
broken (I seem to have bad luck with -pre9's :)... a 3.11-pre10 is now
available, and it does seem to have a more reliable handling of arrow
keys ... *but not perfect*. There simply is no way to reliably detect
both [Esc] and arrow keys on existing serial consoles.

It is somewhat of a meager release despite four months, as most of the
work has gone into the future-work branches.

Changes in 3.83:
* PXELINUX: clear memory before handing over to a chainloaded
NBP. This may help avoid a bug in Windows RIS.

SYSLINUX 1.67 released
This release is identical to 1.67-pre1. Unfortunately the people who
reported problems with 1.66 never got back to me to indicate if it
solved their problem or not, but since it fixes a real bug, regardless,
I decided to release it as 1.67.

SYSLINUX 1.72 released
Since I've gotten convinced the really serious PXELINUX/ISOLINUX bug in
1.71 got squashed, I have released 1.72.
Again, 1.72 is a bug fix release only. I have some additional rewrites
pending before I want to introduce features that use the new core code,
but let's make sure it gets usable again, first...

SYSLINUX 1.74 released -- bug fix release
I tracked down the source of the "invalid kernel image" in 1.73 -- it
turns out that in two different places I was accessing word-sized
variables as dwords :(
Consequently, SYSLINUX would reject valid kernels. PXELINUX/ISOLINUX
are unaffected.
Thus, SYSLINUX 1.74 is out.
Expect a 1.75-pre1 quite soon. I'm working on a rewrite using 32-bit
code from the very beginning, which

SYSLINUX 2.07-pre10 released
I have put out a 2.07-pre10; this version recognizes vendor-encapsulated
(a.k.a. vendor-option-space) PXELINUX options as well as unencapsulated
(a.k.a. site-option-space) PXELINUX options.
Please try it out... I'd like to release 2.07 no later than Monday.
