dhcp-parameter-request-list and append in ISC DHCP 3.x
I was just trying to setup pxelinux with the ISC DHCP server v 3.0.1pl9
using the instructions on the web site to get pxelinux to use a config
file linked to a MAC address rather than an IP address and appear to
have run into the same problem that Gal Goldschmidt posted about in this
list back in July of 2002. It seems that the append statement is only
applicable to the dhclient.conf file, not

[Fwd: dhcp-parameter-request-list and append in ISC DHCP 3.x]
This was sent to the list as HTML (PLEASE, everyone, NO HTML!)
This seems like an elegant replacement since "append" is not supported
anymore, it seems... (sigh)

pxelinux in Asus P55T2P4
Hi,
as a new user to pxelinux I'm having trouble booting an Asus P55T2P4
from an Intel Etherexpress Pro card with PXE bootrom.
I'm using pxelinux 2.04 (tried 2.05pre2 as well) with a Redhat 8.0
kernel (2.4.18) and ramdisk image (for pure testing purposes).
The Mainboard I use is a P55T2P4, Rev. 2, newest Bios 0207, 80MB Ram,
PCI VGA card and the EEPro.
dhcp,tftp work fine, pxelinux

ISC DHCPD Problem and Solution.
Hi,
I already solved this problem, I offer this a part of the FAQ or as a starting
point for an FAQ addition
I was using the RH pxe support, but I got tired of pressing F8.
I wanted to make a few machines to auto boot without any intervetion, well
that's what dhcp/bootp/pxe is all about right?
I followed the HOWTO on the pxelinux site.
I desperately upgraded to the latest ISC 3.1p9.

Packet mangling latency
Firstly... sorry to those of you on both the netfilter and lartc list
who''ll end up with this message twice...
I am trying to find out what kind of latency I can expect when dNAT''ing
UDP packets on (probably) a mid-range P3 server, 32-bit 33MHz PCI bus with
Intel EEPro NICs. It''ll most likely be running whatever the latest 2.4
kernel will be at the time, unless there

[Bridge] Re: [2.4.22] bad interaction between e100 and bridge: BUG at dev.c:991!
Could the problem be that the e100 can do IP receive checksumming on the board,
but the eepro driver doesn't enable it. When the board is doing checksum
offload, then the csum field isn't set.
Please try disabling receive checksumming on the e100 driver
modprobe e100 XsumRX=0
If this is the problem, it exists both 2.4 and 2.6.

bonding & vlan - kernel 2.4.18 (RHL7.3)
Hi,
Hopefully this won''t be too off-topic (I''ve seen both bonding & vlan
mentioned on the list, but not really together).
I''ve tried to get bonding (2 x 100Mb EEPro, but will want to try on
1000BaseT) and vlans to work together, but without luck. I can get them
working fine (seemingly at least - I didn''t tried bursting on the
bonded port) individually.

[PATCH 1/4] Prep for paravirt: move pagetable includes.
Move header includes for the nopud / nopmd types to the location of the
actual pte / pgd type definitions. This allows generic 4-level page
type code to be written before the split 2/3 level page table headers are
included.

pxelinux hang: problem freeing memory?
trying to set up a IBM 4500R with pxelinux 1.67 with an Intel eepro(ish)
NIC. Got DHCP (ISC 2.0) and atftpd working. pxelinux downloads the boot.msg,
kernel and initrd, but when it tries to load the kernel we get:
boot:
Loading 7.1/vmlinuz.............
Loading 7.1/initrd.img..............
ready.
Failed to free base memory, sorry...

I tried enabling debugging in pxelinux.asm, but

SUCCESS - 512 Simultaneous Calls with Digital Recording
List users,
Over the last few days we have been working with MCI's development lab
to test our Asterisk setup. We were using a piece of hardware called an
Abacus 5000 that is capable of creating and terminating thousands of SIP
calls. Initially, we could not get past 64 simultaneous digitally
recorded calls without having call quality issues including dropped
calls. We identified an

Definately. But is it the client or the server?
I've sent it to the portable OpenSSH bug address.
I'm using OpenSSH 2.5.2p2-1.7 on a RedHat 7.0 with all updates.
Sometimes I can login fine, and sometimes I can't. It actually seems to

Passing option-209 to PXE client w/ ISC DHCPD V2
Does anyone remember if there is a way to coerce the ISC DHCPD version
2 (2.0pl5) to send options to a PXE client that does not explicitly
request them. I can do this in version 3 of DHCPD via the
vendor-option-space mechanism, but this is not available in version 2
of the server (the version my network switch uses).
I want to be able to specify the PXE filename via option 209 (plus

One of our readers wrote in to let us know that he had received an attempted

looked like this:
