Need help with IDMAP storage in LDAP using Winbind
Hello @ll,
First a small sketch of my working environment.
There is one PDC, W2000 server, which contains an Active directory, so
basically all the windows users are maintained there. And the Linux/Unix
accounts are stored on a NIS server.
My goal would be the following 2 things.
Firstly currently all the Linux/Unix servers are setup with individual
winbind setups to make the windows users

problem to install R-0.64.2 on mips-sgi-irix6.4
Dear all,
I hope the following problem haven't been discussed here recently (I
could not find anything about it the help archive files) :
I tried to compile R-0.64.2 from the source files without much
success...
the last lines from the output of the ./configure command were :

SYSLINUX 3.00-pre1 released - RELEASE CANDIDATE
Okay, nothing like user mail at 3 am to keep one awake...
I have implemented a filename-based syntax for downloading from an
alternate TFTP server in PXELINUX. If the filename starts with
IP address:: it will:
a) Download from the alternate TFTP server;
b) Suppress the common pathname prefix.
I was considering also adding a configuration file option to set the
default TFTP server, but I

share with no authentication
Hello,
I got this problem:
I want to mount a directory without providing a login/password [indicaf$].
I thought that "guest ok = yes" would be sufficient.
But it not works.
What option is the right one to open a share to everyone without a login box in windows ?
Thanks.

Nbfw, Cross-subnet browsing
Hi,
I'm currently using the nbfw (netbios forwarder - http://nbfw.sourceforge.net/)
patch with samba on a linux masquerading firewall/router. It works
pretty well.
I was wondering if there was plan to include this patch in samba (or TNG)
I was also wondering if there was any way to use this as a mean to do
cross-subnet browsing efficient.
The paradox is that browsing works better between a

Inconsistent behavior for the C AP's R_ParseVector() ?
Hi Simon,
Widespread errors would have caught my earlier as the way that code is
using only one initialization of the embedded R, is used quite a bit, and
is covered by quite a few unit tests. This is the only situation I am aware
of in which an error occurs.
What is a "correct context", or initial context, the code should from ?

Inconsistent behavior for the C AP's R_ParseVector() ?
Hi again,
Beside R_ParseVector()'s possible inconsistent behavior, R's handling of
zero-length named elements does not seem consistent either:
```
> lst[[""]] <- 1
> names(lst)
[1] ""
> list("" = 1)
Error: attempt to use zero-length variable name
Should the parser be made to accept as valid what is otherwise possible
Inconsistent behavior for the C AP's R_ParseVector() ?
Thanks for the quick response Tomas.
The same error is indeed happening when trying to have a zero-length
variable name in an environment. The surprising bit is then "why is this
happening during parsing" (that is why are variables assigned to an
environment) ?
We are otherwise aware that the error is not occurring in the R console,
but can be traced to a call to R_ParseVector() in
Speeding up 'getent passwd' with winbindd on AD
I am working on a Linux-AD integration using winbindd in security=ads
mode with idmap=ad.
Everything is basically working, but the performance of user (and group)
enumeration has been very poor and I am almost at the stage where I ask
my users if they can live without it, though I would prefer not to.
In my test environment, I have about 8500 users in AD, of which
currently only about 10 have
This may look more like a question on how to configure my windows 2000 than
my samba but here I go:
I'm trying to access some shares on a windows 200o pro box from a linux
samba client. I want anybody to access the share from anywhere without a
password.
Extracting/setting elements from/in a matrix/array
Dear all,
I had to extracts/set elements from/in a matrix. Let say I have two
vectors dim1 and dim2 of indices in the respective two dimensions of a
matrix: I want to extract all the corresponding elements. I the case of a
nxn matrix, dim1 <- 1:n and dim2 <- 1:n would extract the diagonal.
I know one way would be to use the functions 'row' and 'col', but the
matrixes I
Warning when calling formals() for `[`.
Hello,
I don't see why you say that the documentation seems to be wrong:
class(args(`+`))
#[1] "function"
args() on a primitive does return a closure. At least in this case it does.
