Re: isolinux doesn't load kernel
Hello !
I have only 2 questions concerning my problem :
1) is there any limitation on the size of the kernel with isolinux ?
(mine is 1230215 bytes. perhaps it's too big ?)
2) Is isolinux compatible with the use of the -z option of mkisofs,
(transparent iso compression) even if the isolinux directory is not
concerned by the compression ?
That's all.

CNAM lookup: new method for Caller ID Name delivery
[cross-posted to -biz and -users since it could fall into either category]
Interesting new product that has been introduced that I think some
would be interested in here (at least, those users in the United
States and perhaps Canada): CNAM delivery via IP lookup.
The problem: inbound calls on many PRI connections, and also over
many VoIP providers, do not include caller name. This means that

[R 2.12] install.packages() with no lib argument does not work
Dear R users,
I have just upgraded R from 2.11 to 2.12 on Ubuntu 9.04 (see more informations
at the end) from the cran apt-get repository. One of the new things concerning
the install.packages() function is stated here :
install.packages() and remove.packages() with lib unspecified and multiple
libraries in .libPaths() inform the user of the library location used with

trigger configuration run remotely
I was wondering how to trigger a configration run remotely. Is this
possible? Looking through the docs, I see mention that puppet can listen
on port 8139, but I don''t see that this is the case on my servers. Can
someone please enlighten me as to the proper method of doing this, if it
can indeed be done?
Thanks!

Can't mount iso files in samba environment
Hello,
I'm running samba 3.05 on FreeBSD 4.9 server with windows xp pro clients.
We use to run a Novell file server and i could mount iso iamge files off the
server(mapped drive) on the workstation(winXP) using daemon tools with no problems.
Since switching to samba, I get this error when i go to mount an iso:
'Unable to mount image. Unable to access image file.'

TwinVQ versus The World
The last few threads have really been interesting. Technologies
that are currently on the market are MP3, RealAudio, and Windows
Media (pre-version8). Technologies currently in progress or
just shipped are Ogg Vorbis and mp3pro. I don't think anyone
has mentioned TwinVQ on this list. While exploring alternatives
to MP3 (which is when I also found Vorbis), I noticed TwinVQ. I

(no subject)
Hi,
I'm attempting to star Wine (as root). What does it
mean when Wine-20011004 tells me that I need the
"-desktop option to use the native USER" ? (start
fails then)
I don't understand because my install is Wine-only
(no Windows so built-in should prevail over native),
the .wine directory and the C: drive are all
./tools/wineinstall -generated.
My config is Mandrake8.1 kernel

Question concernant le logiciel Samba

freebsd service management redux
After reading the rc.subr(8) man page and Newburns''s article on the rc.d subsystem[1],
It''s clear that a rc.conf.d per service file structure is already natively supported on
FreeBSD.
I''ve verified this with my own testing:
# echo puppetmasterd_enable=\"YES\" > /etc/rc.conf.d/puppetmasterd
# /usr/local/etc/rc.d/puppetmasterd start

SIP support status
Hello,
I'm new to Asterisk and would like to know SIP support status.
Are there any testing been done with some widely deployed client (Cisco SIP
IP phone, ...)?
I was using Vocal but I'm now interested in Asterisk as it seems to offer
more features...if it supports SIP.
Thanks for your help.
Francois.

An handful of tags !
Another problem I would like to speack about : tags. Each format appears to
create its own tag.
TwinVQ and WMA tags are limited but Mp3 has a good tag system (although the
"genre" category could be improved). Now ogg develops a new kind of
tagging. I imagine converting all my tags with thousand of tracks... real
nightmare...
Is there an authority or a project to standardiza tags ?
