Re: SYSLINUX Digest, Vol 33, menu.c32 chaining
Hello,
many of our platforms do not have a integrated floppy, some even don''t have a floppy controller. As pxelinux still has a problem with machines without a floppy in combination with some bios versions I need to chainload a different bootstrap loader which works on the floppyless platforms. But I also need to load a BartPE and the other BS loader does not support that. So I tried to

Origin 7.5 and wine
Hello.
I've been trying to install registered Origin 7.5 on wine, using both the
default build for SuSE 9.3 and the newest rpm from sourceforge.
The installation proceeds flawlessly, everything seems to be fine. The
installer finds proper user/institution registration fields. Unfortunatelly,
when I start Origin for the first time, the registration window pops up. All

plotting survival curves (multiple curves on single graph)
Hello.
This is a follow-up to a question I posted last week. With some
previous suggestions from the R-help community, I have been able to
plot survival (, hazard, and density) curves using published data for
Siler hazard parameters from a number of ethnographic populations.
Can the function below be modified, perhaps with a "for" statement, so
that multiple curves (different line

PXE UNDI Options in PXELINUX
Hello
I wonder, if you know any more about the possibilities of having a
standard Network driver for most cards. Is there any such thing for
linux? Where do I get it? Is there possibly something for DOS? A UNDI
Packetdriver would be cool, because then I could use DosSCP on every
Network card I would ever be using with MemDisk (which in turn is very
cool.)

Creating HD Boot Images
I have been trying to track down information on building HD boot images for
ISOLINUX and MEMDISK, and so far, haven't had a whole lot of luck.
I've found a number of sources describing the process of setting up
ISOLINUX and MEMDISK, and how to configure the boot CD to boot various
OS's. I've also read through Bart Lagerweij's BootCD/ModBoot pages, and

Authentication problems after update to Samba 2.2.12
Hello,
I've just updated from Samba 2.2.8a to 2.2.12 and now I've regconized
that my user authentication does not work anymore. We have an Active
Directory Domain and I tried the following lines in smb.conf:
security = domain
password server = dc1,dc2
encrypted passwords = yes
With these lines all authentications fail. When I change my configuration to
security = server

Exclude-from file format?
I have seen two main styles in examples for using rsync with exclude-from.
The first is simply a list of filename, one per line.
The second is a list of filenames, one per line, prefixed with either a - or a + to indicate exclude/include. Which is correct?
Also, none show the correct style with a filname containing spaces, though I assumed quoting is OK

failed to set times on ... Invalid argument (22) and what to do with it
Dear All,
Along with the files that suddenly disappear, we have a bit of a problem
with these that do not.
Namely, in my test runs I can see a small but stable set of files, that
rsync is repeatedly trying to transfer, and then repeatedly fails to
updates their times ; and then the story repeats itself.
The situation is illustrated by the log snippet below, where I have

Read from HTML file, print if see a specific string
So basically I have made a HTML file with a table in it.
Column 3 contains a GenBank number and is always proceeded by "=GenBank">".
I want to read the file and return the number which comes directly after
this (the contents of column 3).
Ideally I would like to save this number as a string for use later in the
script, but any help is good help. Been at this for HOURS and

[PATCH 0/2] v2v: uninstall VMware tools on all Linux guests
Hi,
this patch series attempt to uninstall VMware tools on all the Linux
guests, and reduce the uninstallation time needed in some cases:
- v2v tries to workaround the slowest part of the tarball-installed
VMware tools
- v2v uninstalls the open source VMware tools (open-vm-tools)
Thanks,
