ISOLINUX failure with Connectix Virtual PC 4.3.2
Hello,
I have discovered an incompatibility between Connectix Virtual PC 4.3.2 and ISOLINUX 1.75:
when I boot a .iso CD image using Virtual PC 4.3.2 software, I get the following errors (debug version):

Macintosh OS 9.2 and SMB Networks
Some use Dave (http://www.thursby.com/products/dave.html) or DoubleTalk
(http://www.connectix.com/products/dt.html). However, we use Netatalk
(http://netatalk.sourceforge.net/) successfully to share the Unix/Samba file
system with our Mac clients. Is there any reason you can't use Netatalk?

Can wine be used in Mac OS X (UNIX) with X11 installed?
Can wine be used in Mac OS X (UNIX) with or without X11 installed?
I use wine in Red Hat Linux 9 and would also like to use wine in Mac OS
X to also run some Windows applications in Mac OS X.
Since Microsoft bought Connectix Virtual PC for Mac OS X and has already
trashed the product some, I am looking for an alternative to use. There
may be more Virtual PC users seeking the same later.

Speex test cases? and XMMS speex plugin

Yes, I mailed the web master and Jens about it a few days ago. I
have the version I'm currently using which was based on an old
version of Jens and has streaming support. It's a bit queer on
seeking, and crashes XMMS if you seek while in pause, but it

Problems with 1.9.18p8
Having tried all the hints in DIAGNOSIS.txt, and having no success, and
being unable to decrypt the error codes (does anyone have a list of these?) I
send this to you all in the hope you can figure it out.
FYI: I'm running 1.9.18p8, upgraded from 1.9.16p9. I got the exact same
errors on both versions. I'm running debug level 5 to try and find some
clue to the problem. I did have samba

ssh-keygen private keys export - new feature
Hello,
I had some difficulties in order to convert private keys between different
implementations of SSH.
So, I wrote the following patch to allow export of SSH2 RSA and DSA private
keys into IETF SECSH format.
Note that I also slightly revised the IETF SECSH key import code.
Usage: use of the "-e" option on a private key file generates an unencrypted
private key file in IETF SECSH

Speex test cases?
I'm trying to get speex to encode a bit faster, mainly by rewriting a few
functions in SSE and translating the GCC __asm__ to VC __asm.
There's 2 functions I'm targeting, first is vq_nbest which consumes 40% of
the time at high complexity and split_cb_search_shape_sign. Which consumes
just over 30%. I've split out two functions from:
cb_search_precompute_energy - loop at the

Appending <tr>''s to Table - Images in <tr>''s loading slowly.
While working on an application, I have run into an interesting problem for which I have no solution at this moment, hence writing to this forum.
Basically, I am working on an email application that requires me to fetch data from the backend using AJAX and then I use dom to append the results dynamically to the mail display table.
So far so good. So, I call a function getTableData() at the end

RE: Appending <tr>''s to Table - Images in<tr>''sloading slowly.
I tried the same thing Ryan - tried preloading the images using javascript once and then using CSS (heights of desperate behavior ;)
But no Luck!
But, IE is misbehaving in this respect. The application behaves fine once loaded. But, each refresh sucks!
Only if I knew why this was happening ... :)
Thanks anyway,
Mandy.

RE: Appending <tr>''s to Table - Imagesin<tr>''sloading slowly.
Thanks Jerod for your help.
I had already tried checking my cache settings and that was set to automatically. But, that didn''t fix this bug.
Now, the URL that you sent really captures my problem well :)
And what you just pointed seems interesting - I have absolute references to the images because of some reason (as designed by some developers). Now, if you are saying that IE would

RE: Appending <tr>''s to Table - Images in <tr>''sloading slowly.
I have also experienced erratic image "non"-caching by IE in my projects
(seemingly related specifically to AJAX/DOM manipulated nodes as you are
seeing)...
I tried preloading the icon images in body onload in global variables,
then using those global variables to access the images... no luck.
...I have no idea why IE sometimes has to download these images that it
SHOULD have in its

ignoring attempt to close td with tr ???
I got the most current rspec and installed as a plugin. Running rake
spec:controllers gives me this error:
ignoring attempt to close td with tr
I dumped response.body and everything looks fine. Is this a known
issue? Nothing in Google about it.
Thanks,

Updating a tr with RJS
I''m having a strange display issue when trying to update a tablerow
using RJS.
This is the code in the RJS template:
page.replace_html "item_#{@item.id}", :partial => ''item_display''
So the existing <tr> has an id like item_1. When the update actions
completes, it renders this template and effectively replaces the tr with
item_display which as a

[markaby] <tr>s really can''t have ids?
trying to reduce the extent to which the plugins i use have been modified, to ease deployment issues...( should probably learn SVK - somehow i think my hacks to allow geocoding in cartographer (before google supported it officially), add id''s to table stuff in markaby, or make acts_as_authenticated work with drupal userbases wouldn''t be useful patches for other people)
so XHTML

Appending new tr into a table
Hi,
While working on a project, I ran into the problem of appending <tr>''s to a table in IE 6.
I am using new Insertion.Bottom(element, content); for this.
This works fine in Firefox but in IE 6, I don''t get an error but nothing appears in the table.
I know that IE treats innerHTML of a table as read only, but going through the following post, I assume there is some fix
