persp(): add second plane (second, long question)
Thank you for your replies so far. Sorry for bothering you again, but I'm still not able to get what I need as I don't understand all parts of the replies (just using R for easy things....). Is there a code for plane3d() like some of you sent me for points3d()? I was not able to get that out of the scatterplot3d package... What I can do is to get the x,y and z-range for the xlim,ylim and

rgl.postscript
Hi, I am having an issue when creating a postscript file from RGL window. It seems to cut off some of the axis labels. Here is the code I am using. I created a 3D plot using RGL_0.71 with R 2.5 on Windows XP. z1<-c(5,4,1,4.5,2,3,2,1,1) z2<-c(6,8,7,7.5,5,3.5,4,1,1) z3<-c(3,2,4,7,3,4.5,6,2,3) x1<-seq(1,9) x2<-seq(1,9) x3<-seq(10,18) y1<-seq(8,0) y2<--1*y1

plane3d
I am attempting to fit a logistic regression plane to a 3-D scatterplot (which was generated using scatterplot3d). I've noticed that the help pages of scatterplot3d include a function titled "plane3d." However, when I attempt to use the function, I get the following message: Error: couldn't find function "plane3d" I've searched the archives and found no

Redundancy canonical analysis plot problem in 3D using VEGAN, RGL, SCATTERPLOT3D and SFSMISC
We need to keep the discussion on the list. When I run your code, there are several problems. strain.data <- read.xlsx("Dee rhiz.xlsx", sheetName ="strain", header = T, row.names = 1) str(strain.data) # lists 9 columns at the end with all NAs strain.data1 <- (strain.data, sqrt.dist = TRUE) # this is not a valid R line. I get Error: unexpected ',' in

rgl: plane3d or abline() analog
For use with rgl, I'm looking for a function to draw a plane in an rgl scene that would function sort of like abline(a, b) does in base graphics, where abline(0, 1) draws a line of unit slope through the origin. Analogously, I'd like to have a plane3d function, so that plane3d(0, 1, 1) draws a plane through the origin with unit slopes in x & y and plane3d(3, 0, 0) draws a

scatterplot3d bug??
Hey guys, Not sure if I encountered a bug with the scatterplot3d function. Here's the calls I made: s3d1 <- scatterplot3d(TotLogDisttenp,TotDifftenp,TotMeasuredRSLtenp,pch=16,highlight.3d=TRUE,angle=40,type="h",main="MRSL ~ LogDist + Diff"); s3d1$plane3d(fitols); s3d1 <-

Problem with scatterplot3d example
I tried to run the following example from section 4.1.4 of the "Scatterplot3d - an R package for Visualizing Multivariate Data" vignette and got an error on the part that plots the regression plane: > library(scatterplot3d) > data(trees) > s3d <- scatterplot3d(trees, type = "h", color = "blue", + angle = 55, scale.y = 0.7, pch = 16, main = "Adding

3dscatterplot -different colors for different factors of the same variable
Dear R users, I was trying to do a 3d scatterplot for the following set of datas: "obj" "time" "X" "Y" "1" "yellow" "333" "388.7" "492.3" "2" "yellow" "567" "388.7" "492.3" "3" "green" "621" "135.5"

help with scatterplot3d
Hello, I am having a bit of trouble with scatterplot3d(). I was able to plot a 3d cloud of points using the following code: >my.3dplot<-scatterplot3d(my.coords, pch=19, zlim=c(0,1), scale.y=0.5, angle=30, box=FALSE) where my.coords is a data frame that contains x, y, and z coordinates for grid points whose elevation we sampled. The problem occurs when I try to add points using points3d.

points3d and ordirgl
Hello all, I have been using the function ordirgl to plot 3D dynamic ordinations. The ordirgl function works just fine. IN fact, I was even able to write a function that allows me to identify points in the 3D plot: identify.rgl<-function(env_var,ord,dim1,dim2,dim3) { tmp<-select3d(button="left") tmp.keep<-tmp(ord[,dim1],ord[,dim2],ord[,dim3])

Using pch with the RGL library
Hi, I am trying to compare two 3D plots. For that, I am trying to use the "pch" parameter in the "points3d" function, but it is not working. Is it implemented? Any suggestion? Here goes a reproducible code. I wanted the second plot having different symbols for the points. x <- rbind(matrix(rnorm(100, sd = 0.3), ncol = 2), matrix(rnorm(100, mean = 1, sd = 0.3),

Installing Package rgl - Compilation Fails - FreeBSD
Brian, I just tried your version rgl_0.70-2 with R-2.5.0 on FreeBSD 7.0-CURRENT (i386) and it works! Thank you very much for this competently and very fast help. Next I will try if it compiles on amd64, too ... overlay xyplot on contourplot in lattice in R
Hi everybody, I want to do a contourplot in lattice with my raw data overlaid on it(xyplot) which seemed to be a very easy thing to do. I've tried it in many ways, but I haven't succeeded at obtaining it. let's say x, y, and z as the variables that comes from the data frame ''ex'': therefore my countourplot is as followed : contourplot(z ~ x * y, cuts=550) I

which points within an ellipsoid? Sorting data in 3d
Hello, in a three dimensional coordinate system, I'd like to find all my experimental data points that fall within an ellipsoid around a fixed coordinate. The fixed point is defined by (x.coord.point, y.coord.point, z.coord.point). The coordinates of the ellipsoid are given by the three vectors x,y,z. In a previous version of my code, I simply used a box instead of an ellipsoid to sort

persp(), scatterplot3d(), "..." argument
Hello list. I very often need 3d scatterplots, and use scatterplot3D quite a lot. I am trying to modify persp() to plot scatterplots, and make use of the theta and phi arguments that persp() offers. I am having some difficulty passing the correct arguments to persp(). Here is my function so far. Much of it is copied from the persp() manpage. points3d <- function(x,y,z,

change pch in 3dplot, export graph
Hello I was wondering if anyone has been able to change the pch value for points in 3dplot()? I am able to change point colors just not symbol types. I have included a portion of my code below. I realize this won't work outside of my script, but thought, maybe there is something obvious that I am doing wrong. Also is it possible to utilize the interactive feature of 3dplot in a

predict.coxph
Hi everyone, Can anyone give me more details about the 'lp', 'risk', 'terms', and 'expected' options from the predict.coxph function? I actually found that risk is obtained from exp(lp). I can't find information on 'expected' type however. Is anybody can expand the information on this function? Thank you in advance, I will appreciate it.

Adding plane in a 3D scatterplot
I have drawn a 3D scatter plot : library(mnormt) library(scatterplot3d) dat = cbind(rmnorm(3, rep(0,2), diag(2)), 1:3) scatterplot3d(dat) Now I want to do 2 things : 1 : In the Z-axis (i.e. height), I want to see only numbers 1,2,3, etc NOT, 1,1.5,2,2.5............. 2. I want to add two Horizontal planes at hight z=2 and z=3. Those two planes should look like "bottom" of that 3D plot
