"update-grub" adds line to "multiboot"
Hello Xen folks, I use Debian Squeeze. I want to passthrough PCI devices. With the old stable Debian (grub legacy) i did not have problems. I edit /etc/default/grub like: quote: GRUB_CMDLINE_XEN_DEFAULT="quiet xen-pciback.permissive xen-pciback.hide=(00:14.2)(01:05.1)" I run "update-grub". Now i look at /boot/grub/grub.cfg: ### BEGIN /etc/grub.d/20_linux_xen

Can't authenticate any more, KVNO mismatch? (alpha 17-19)
Hi all, we've been running a Samba4 domain with alpha17 for a few months now without any problems. However, a few days ago, something happened and now winbind can't authenticate against the domain any more. Strangely, logging into (at least one) Windows box still works, even with a user that was never used on this particular box before, and therefore can't have any cached

Sysvol: users - access denied
Hello, I have a question regarding to access permissions. Recently I have upgraded my DC from version 41.12 to 4.1.21. This weekend I have decided to upgrade to 4.3.3. I have noticed that my users weren't able to access the sysvol share after the upgraded to 4.3.3. As a test I have created a new user "test" and I was able to open the sysvol share without any issues. Next I have

Incorrect client netbios name in %m
I have a client (Fedora 19) and a server (Fedora 14/Samba 3.5.11) which works fine. I'm now setting up a new server (Fedora 20/Samba 4.1.3) with more or less the same smb.conf 1. Issuing: sudo smbclient -L //srv001 -U suser list all shares correct. 2. Issuing: sudo mount -t cifs //srv/Share3 /mnt/share3/ -o username=suser Password for suser@//srv/Share3: **** Retrying with upper case share

samba/network performance
Hi list, we're having some problems with our Samba Server based on Debian Eth with Samba version 3.0.24. When a user copies a file to a share the performance is just about 10-15 MBits/s. Doesn't matter what OS the client uses. The server itself has a 1 G connection. Both are directly connected to the switch so there couldn't be a buggy cable/box between them. When i measure the speed

Hi Karthik, thanks for taking a look at this. I'm not working with gluster long enough to make heads or tails out of the logs. The logs are attached to this mail and here is the other information: # gluster volume info home Volume Name: home Type: Replicate Volume ID: fe6218ae-f46b-42b3-a467-5fc6a36ad48a Status: Started Snapshot Count: 1 Number of Bricks: 1 x 3 = 3 Transport-type: tcp

TEST 3 If you get a "connection refused" response then the smbd server may not be running. If you installed it in inetd.conf then you probably edited that file incorrectly. If you installed it as a daemon then check that it is running, and check that the netbios-ssn port is in a LISTEN state using "netstat -a". Note: You have xinetd not inetd on the redhat box. On a side note, try recently released health report tool, and see if it does diagnose any issues in setup. Currently you may have to run it in all the three machines.
