Network Latency
Hiya, I''m trying to track down some throughput latency that our customer seems to be attributing to our product, I can''t see what he''s talking about, but I want to try and get some deeper granularity than I might get with something like smokeping, and maybe even see if its down to something tunable on our end. I''ve been looking for some examples on how

Problems with UsePrivilegeSeparation (was: port fwd as user != root?
I just upgraded to OpenSSH3.2.3p1 as it seemed that UsePrivilegeSeparation yes might help with my problem (connections forwarded are owned by root instead of the user I logged in as on the server), but instead, sshd barfs on receiving a connection. Without UsePrivilegeSeparation the server works fine. # strace -o /tmp/sshd.str sshd -d debug1: sshd version OpenSSH_3.2.3p1 debug1: private host

sendto syscall: EPERM (Operation not permitted)
A bizarre problem on this host running Asterisk. I don't actually think this is Asterisk's problem, but I don't know who to ask, so if this is OT, please redirect me. CentOS 5.2 64-bit Xen domU running Asterisk 1.4.22 32-bit with a number of SIP phones and a few SIP<->PSTN gateways. Using dtrace to follow a kernel linked list
I''m looking for an example of how one could write a dtrace probe that could follow something like a NULL terminated linked list. For example: struct list { struct list *next; void *data; }; struct list *list_root; Assuming I had "list_root" available, but I wanted to know how long the linked list is, how can I do this in a dtrace probe? If I had looping

[PATCH] efi: reuse UDP port with sendto
Without an assigned source port, Transmit function assign a random new source port to the packet being sent. It thus have to be set before calling Transmit if the source port have already been decided. Conversly, we have to save the assigned port to reuse it later if needed. Resolve bug #35. dtrace and follow fork
I am trying to use dtrace to trace all sscanf calls. I am able to use pid provider for this. But my application forks off children at times to handle requests. Is there a way I can stop the child process immediately after it is started so that I can attach a pid provider to that and trace the scanf calls in it? I have tried using the "create" probe but that did not help.

Telling Apache Not to Send a Sub-Directory to the Cluster

I was hoping someone here could help. I''m using Apache conf right out of the cluster example from the Mongrel site. I have a directory under my apps ''public'' directory called
